Hosted by Staci Layne Wilson and based on the Rock & Roll Nightmares horror and true crime book series, this irreverent podcast on rock, punk, grunge, etc., features interviews with musicians, writers, photographers, artists, and filmmakers. Topics have included: Rock Stars in the Movies, The Beach Boys, Ozzy Osbourne, CREEM magazine, the origins of punk rock, and Under the Volcano. The first episode, featuring punk legend and Hollywood Princess Pleasant Gehman, is about women in rock, summoning spirits with a Ouija board and Belinda Carlisle, and her new book Rock & Roll Witch. Staci and cohost Mark Wheaton discuss Mark's short story "Dead Over Heels" in Rock & Roll Nightmares: Gory Days, the '80s Edition. The second episode features bassist extraordinaire, Phil Soussan-known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, Johnny Hallyday, and Last in Line. Phil dishes on almost joining Jimmy Page's band, shooting the very glittery "Shot in the Dark" music video, being confronted by a knife-wielding Ozzy fan, and much more. Another episode has Tony Gardner of Alterian, Inc., a legend in the world of special movie effects. He got his start working with Rick Baker on Michael Jackson's Thriller video and has been bringing us the goo and gore ever since. He's done practical effects on hundreds of films-everything from the over-the-top Child's Play films to realistic, cringe-inducing work such as 127 Hours. Right now, Tony's terrifying handiwork can be seen in the horror-comedy Studio 666 with Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters band. He joins Staci to talk about working on that film, sharing his favorite kills, talks about his cameo, and reveals his own personal rock & roll nightmare. Each season consists of 12 episodes. The theme song is "She's Out For Blood" by Fuzzbuster, written and performed by Larz Cabot.
