The Whore of Babylon
claudio_carvalho21 July 2014
Dexter returns to Miami and finds Debra upset with him because of his absence and she tells that the Doomsday Killer is actually Gellar and another man, probably a former student. Louis uses his computer skills to reduce the number of Gellar's former students in Miami to 200 and the list is shared among the detectives that are assigned to investigate each one of them. LaGuerta gives a direct order to Debra to close her investigation of the death by OD of an escort girl. Debra decides to visit names of the list and she meets Travis' sister Lisa. Dexter continues to hunt down Gellar but Travis does not collaborate with him. Meanwhile Gellar abducts Travis and releases his Whore of Babylon in a school.

"Sin of Omission" is a dark episode of this season. Who might be involved in the death of the prostitute? My prime suspect is Deputy Chief Tom Matthews. Travis will certainly become an enemy of Gellar unless he dies. My vote is eight.

Teaming Up
ZegMaarJus17 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with Dexter, he tries to make it up with Debra about his week off. Dexter is at Sam's funeral, Diego gave Sam's bible to Dexter. A callgirl has been found dead in a hotel room, probably a heroin overdose. Gellar smashes down Travis with a shovel. Lisa Marshall has been found dead, Travis is the main suspect to be Gellar's accomplice. Dexter arrived at Gellar's castle, but Gellar got away in time. Nice episode of Dexter Season 6, Dexter and Travis going to work together to get Gellar dead. Will they succeed this mission?

Small bit of darkness

Warning: Spoilers
1. Travis' sister is the who*r*e of Babylon 2. Laguerta forces Debra to close a case 3. Dexter finds the church

Solid episode. Not sure why the ratings so low. It looks like Travis is turning on Geller for real now. In my opinion, these guys look like the least threatening serial killers. So I don't know how satisfying the finale is going to be.

There are some ripples between Dexter and Deb because let's face it. Their relationship was always lopsided just unbeknownst to Deb. She's finally realizing it because she doesn't have anyone else.

Season 6 has been pretty decent with consistent theme but it felt too... preachy at times like the writers just forcing the message or the idea down the audiences throat.

WHY and HOW did it came to THIS mess?????
johngiannopoulos7821 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I am such a big fan of Dexter. Is one of the best shows ever made.Having said that i must add that this episode is maybe the worst episode in all seasons!! It makes me wonder about the writers, about the plot (if there is finally one) about the direction, about what the hell happened to the last 2 episodes and especially this one! What we have here you see is an excuse of a plot , without any climax and several smaller stories just trying awkwardly to get in and about. Scenes that make you wonder how quickly and roughly and in a real hurry they were made. The actors suddenly stopped acting in some scenes.Especially in the scene with Laguerta and Debb , and Gellar and Travis. The DDK murder happens with the least impact on the viewer. The inner dialog of Dexter leaves you wonder about what exactly is he thinking now and why.

And it all sums up in WHY and HOW did it came to THIS mess????? is the director gone missing? Did DDK killed him also? forgive my sarcasm but i was in a real awe about what i was watching suddenly!

My only wish as a real fan is : Please please please don't ruin completely the so much promising sixth season ! Its such a same to see this beloved shows episode so roughly made...

Could have been better [8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S6. E8) My Reaction / Review for Dexter Season 6 Episode 8 ''Sin of Omission'': Episode 7 was good and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Gellar wont give up easily, its impossible for Travis to find the peace he wants. It still sucks that brother Sam died. Travis is responsible for some disgusting things, Gellar is not the only one to blame, but I don't know if Harry's code would allow Dex to kill Travis. Lol Angel is really upset that his sister is dating that guy. Wow Gellar killed Travis' sister, that's brutal, I didn't expect it. Gellar is nuts. Father Galway seems like such a good dude. Deb is right, she just wanna have a conversation with her brother and Dex never wants to. My rating is 8/10.

And I thought LAST WEEK was a mess
skay_baltimore8 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
After having watched last week's episode it was clear to me that it couldn't get much worse.

I WAS WRONG!

And I swear...if I hear one more droning, pretentious monologue projecting out of Dexter's mouth I'M going to become homicidal.

And with regard to the "relationships" in this show...do the writers just sit around the room and ask themselves which random person can sleep with some other random person? This wouldn't even make a halfway decent soap opera.

It is just 100% total TRASH!

And ya know...it's one thing to try to come up with the most gross, sensationalistic plots in order to appear to be "cutting edge". But the decision this season to introduce religion might have been the worst mistake since the Edsel. It started with the stupid Catholic preschool for Harrison, careened off of "Brother Sam", and has gone full tilt, downhill, with the Doomsday Killer.

But the biggest problems with this series are:

1. The mounting instances of Dexter playing God and deciding that HE'S the ONLY ONE who can set things straight. So instead of providing the police with the accurate information needed to apprehend dangerous criminals, he keeps that vital information private and as a result PEOPLE NEEDLESSLY DIE. That is not, or at least should not be the core of this show. Unfortunately, that's exactly what it's become.

And 2. The lazy writing. WAY too many times where a message on an answering machine is overheard or a pen found in a desk or a close encounter is missed or not missed...or...or...or. It's bad writing that's simply not believable and it has eroded away any real interest that this show once had. It's just too stupid for words.
