Mussum, O Filmis (2023) Good, but it sits on the wall

Mussum, O Filmis is a great Brazilian film. The dynamics of the narrative are very well structured and developed in a light and fun way. It is interesting to analyze how, initially, we see little Antônio Carlos (Aílton Graça) on the fence when faced with his life choices. The little boy finds himself lost between choosing to follow his dreams or listen to his mother's advice. Even though he doesn't choose, "life" chooses for him, but that doesn't stop him from achieving his dreams. The narrative from that moment on follows an interesting path, exploring different moments in the career of the famous actor, comedian and musician Mussum. However, at a certain point the development of this narrative becomes hypocritical because it is also on the fence regarding the defects of its protagonist. Even though the film tries to present the mistakes he made during his career, he prefers not to delve into these issues and makes several passages of the narrative become shallow. In short, the film is beautiful to watch and brings a fun and exciting story, but which in many moments falls into the biggest problem of biographies, which is exploring the defects of the person portrayed.
