New Line Cinema has confirmed that Malin Akerman has joined the cast of Rock of Ages, playing Constance Stack, a journalist who romances Tom Cruise’s Stacee Jaxx. But that’s not the only project the actress has on her plate. No, Rock of Ages brings Akerman to… six films headed to theaters in 2012: The Giant Mechanical Man, Medallion, Wildwood Inn, Serpent Girl, The Numbers Station, and, now Ages. As for 2011, Akerman appears in happythankyoumoreplease, Electra Luxx, The Bang Bang Club, Criminal Empire for Dummy’s, Wanderlust, and Inferno, the Linda Lovelace biopic that unceremoniously dumped Lindsay Lohan for...

Wildwood Inn is an upcoming directorial debut of actor Christopher McDonald, and of course, we are talking about a romantic drama.
So, no wonder we already have Malin Akerman attached to star in this project, right?
On the other hand, at this moment, we have no idea who will co-star in the whole thing, but at one point, Jim Sturgess had been rumored for the male lead. Still, it looks that he’s definitely not going to star in “Wildwood” after all.
The story will center on “two young couples dissatisfied with their marriages who discover they both stay in the same mountain cabin each year, at alternate times, and they begin to explore relationships outside of their marriage via the cabin’s welcome journal.”
So, as you see, we’ll have a chance to watch another relationship exploring, or something like that. And, we’re quite surprised that Sturgess is not on board,...

Malin Akerman ("Watchmen") is attached to star in the indie relationship drama "Wildwood Inn" says Bleeding Cool.
The story follows two young couples, dissatisfied with their marriages, who discover they both stay in the same mountain cabin each year, at alternate times.
They decide to explore relationships outside of their marriage via the cabin’s welcome journal. Jon & Lisa Vandergriff penned the script while actor Christopher McDonald ("Harry's Law") makes his directorial debut on the project.
The film's producers say actor Jim Sturgess ("21," "Across the Universe") is also attached to star, but Sturgess' reps have denied the claim.

Yes, that Christopher McDonald. The character actor that told Happy Gilmore, ‘I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!’ He’s also the drug-induced host of the television game show Ellen Burnstyn can’t stop watching in Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem For A Dream.
The actor’s directorial debut comes in the form of Wildwood Inn, with Malin Akerman attached, as well as reports of Jim Sturgess circling the project. Note: these reports have since been denied by the actor’s publicist, despite confirmation from one of the film’s producers.
The script comes courtesy of television vets (Home Improvement, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch) Jon and Lisa Vandergriff and tells the story of two young, struggling married couples who vacation to the same cabin getaway at alternating times of the year. Through the cabin ‘welcome’ log do these couples carry on extra-marital affairs. Doesn’t sound too far off...

Malin Akerman and Jim Sturgess, both actors known primarily for being attractive more than their actual talent, were in two movies recently in theaters that showed off their genuine acting chops. Akerman currently stars in the fluffy comedy happythankyoumoreplease, showing off surprising depth in an ensemble cast that's mostly pretty shallow, and Sturgess starred in Peter Weir's epic The Way Back, leading with quiet force a cast that included Ed Harris, Colin Farrell and Saoirse Ronan-- no easy feat. In the last few months Akerman and Sturgess have proved that they're far more talented than we might have given them credit for previously, and now the two will be starring together in a film to hopefully prove it again. According to Bleeding Cool, the two will enjoy some unlikely romance in Wildwood Inn, which will be the directorial debut of actor Christopher McDonald (known as Shooter McGavin Happy Gilmore...

Update: The Playlist reports that Sturgess is not attached to this film. Well, there goes Sean’s awesome fake baby name.
You know who would make really ugly babies? Jim Sturgess and Malin Akerman. It’s not their fault (both people are immensely attractive in their respective genders) but together they’d make one fugly baby. Jamlin Akergess would be a blight upon baby attractiveness everywhere and thus, should be avoided at all costs.
