At a small town diner in the middle of nowhere, a waitress has to serve a table of spoiled college girls who think they've found a quaint little slice of Americana. They pass the time telling jokes and playing games, all while trying to engage the waitress who just wants her shift to end. She puts up with their cell phones, perkiness, and condescension until she can't take anymore, realizing that her life is the game and her pain is the joke. The arrogance of youth and the weariness of time come to a head during a lunch shift that seems like it will never end.
