Color me surprised or just plain out of touch and ignorant. I had no idea that in 2012, Stephen King -- perhaps one of the greatest modern American genre authors -- wrote a story that features Batman in a unique way. Yes, that's right. Stephen King of The Stand, It, The Dark Tower, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, The Shining, Carrie, Cujo, and Misery fame, incorporated the Caped Crusader into a story.
Though, before you get too excited, this isn't necessarily about Batman proper. No, this is a story entitled "Bazaar of Bad Dreams." If you recognize the title, that's because that's the name of a collection of short stories that King published earlier this year. Anyway, this short story, which was first featured in a 2012 issue of Harper's Bazaar, features a father and son having lunch together, reminiscing about better times. This is especially poignant because the father has a bad case of Alzheimers.

We Are Still Here
Directed by Ted Geoghegan
Written by Ted Geoghegan
USA, 2015
Taking cues from late ’70’s /early ’80s horror (primarily director Lucio Fulci’s The House by the Cemetery and John Carpenter’s The Fog), writer/director Ted Geoghegan’s directorial debut We Are Still Here doesn’t break new ground, but serves as a suspenseful and well-crafted old-fashioned ghost story.
Geoghegan’s concept is pretty straightforward; a period piece set in 1979 about a married couple Anne (Barbara Crampton) and Paul (Andrew Sensenig) who relocate to a new home in rural New England after a car accident takes the life of their only son Bobby. The pair has hopes that a fresh start will bring them some closure only Anne feels a strange presence in the house and believes that her child’s spirit is following them. When spooky occurrences originate from the basement, and neighbor Dave (Monte Markham...

Toronto, Ontario. As you've discovered if you've ever sent out a tweet containing the word "Hiddleston," the "Thor" star and British Shakespeare veteran has a legion of passionate fans. On Guillermo del Toro's upcoming Victorian haunted house drama "Crimson Peak," Hiddleston was a late arrival, stepping in for one of the few actors capable of engendering comparable levels of online hyperventilation, Benedict Cumberbatch. For Hiddleston, there was no hesitation when first his agent, then del Toro, then Jessica Chastain all called to woo him to play Sir Thomas Sharpe, a fading British aristocrat who brings his new American bride Edith (Mia Wasikowska) home to his familial estate as part of an attempt to reboot his fortunes, setting in motion initially creepy and eventually terrifying happenings. "[T]here was no possible way I was going to say no," Hiddleston laughs, sitting in a prop warehouse near the Toronto sound stages housing...
