Drugs and the Dysfunction of a Family
stevergy200027 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
One of two sons diligently works on school work as the other complains about the lack of food in the house. The mother sees there are no funds in the bank account. The drug-smoking son needs 200 for an upcoming trip, and the earnest son relieves his parents problem over this by offering to pay.

The mother goes out drinking, forgets to do the shopping, and deals cocaine on the side.

When the cops arrive, things take a predicted downward turn, salvaged by the one member of the family whose look back in anger speaks volumes about the personal recriminations in a household in which each family member seems to take their level of personal responsibility quite differently.

Very well done, although I could have used subtitles for the muttered English accents.

A couple. Their two sons. Money problems, drugs and the cops arresting one of members of family. Game of apparences and the guilt as cover for each character . Except one.

A smart crafted story about selfishness and radical decision for save a beloved one . Family dominated by prevalence of the interests of each member and saved by the lucidity of the only innocent.

In essence, just a good Christian short film , out of references to religion but proposing the gestures sustaining Christian attitude .

And this makes special Take me , without doubts. Because it is one of admirable portraits of so many near reality lives.
