- Gregory Crewdson: First and foremost I've always been a photographer, always. When I was 10 years old my father brought me to the Diane Arbus retrospective at the MoMA in 1972, that was like an awakening to me, that was a moment of transformation, and as I walked through each of those pictures they were emblazed on my conciousnous. I think on some intuative level I had a realization that this is what I wanted to do. I think that's one of my earliest encounters with photography and it's sort of photography and psychology coming together.
