Princess Diana’s brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, has opened up his family home at the most wonderful time of the year.
Spencer installed a magnificent 25-ft. tree dominating the Saloon, which boasts Althorp House’s main staircase. It’s “the largest tree we’ve ever had here,” he tweeted Wednesday.
Spencer, 53, and his wife Karen, the founder of Whole Child International, are expecting to host a large family celebration over the holidays.
The towering tree was unveiled as the cameras for a local TV station caught the finishing touches being made to the laying of a grand new carpet.

When Hurricane Harvey struck Houston in September, entire sections of the city were severely damaged by flooding and winds. It was a particularly harsh reality for mom-and-pop shops: Fema estimates that nearly 40 percent of small businesses don’t reopen after a disaster. But one Latina refused to let her father’s store become another statistic, and harnessed the power of social media to save it.
Watching her dad Trinidad Garza’s Houston panaderia, La Casa Bakery and Cafe, struggle to stay afloat after Harvey devastated the area, Jackie Garza reached out to her Twitter followers. “Hey Yall My Dad Has A Little Panaderia/ Restaurant,...

On December 6, YouTube released the 2017 edition of its Rewind video, in which close to 300 creators paid tribute to some of the year's most notable trends. The annual Rewind tradition serves as a celebration of the power of online video, but some creators want to make sure that the less savory YouTube-related headlines of 2017 receive attention as well. In the days after the video site published its big compilation, several parodies versions have arrived, with some of them achieving seven-digit view counts.
The most popular Rewind parody so far has come from creator KeeperAction, whose satire of YouTube has pulled 1.6 million views in three days. His video, rather than adopting a triumphant tone, references scandals like the adpocalypse (which he represents with a yellow dollar sign) and controversial videomakers like RiceGum.
Another parody, from Jack Douglass of Jacksfilms, focuses on the controversial Paul brothers, Jake and Logan.

“I’m not resigning. I’m definitely not resigning,” he told CNN when asked about his midterm election plans for next year. “That’s all I can tell you for now,” he said.

The makers of Mahanati have disclosed the release date of the film on December 6 to commemorate Savitri’s birthday anniversary.
Since Mahanati is a biopic on actor Savitri, the makers felt that disclosing the release date on her birth anniversary would be apt. And for all those interested, the trilingual will be out at the theatres on March 29. Along with the release date, the makers also released the logo of the film in video format.

Bryan Singer has had a ruinous week. On December 4, 20th Century Fox fired Singer from the Freddie Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” for abandoning the London set; on December 6, the studio announced Dexter Fletcher as his replacement. In a statement, Singer ascribed his absence on “Bohemian Rhapsody” to caring for an ailing parent, but Fox also declined to renew its long-term deal with Singer’s production company, while his longtime publicist cut ties a few months ago.

And then, on December 7, Singer hit the news cycle again: In a lawsuit filed by attorney Jeff Herman, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman accused Singer of sexually assaulting him in 2003, when Sanchez-Guzman was 17.
All of this represents a tremendous comedown for Singer, a blockbuster director whose films have made over $1 billion in domestic release alone.

As much as the past fifteen years or so have proven to be an embarrassment of riches for geeks and casual moviegoers the world over, the fact remains that several dream meetings between superheroes have yet to occur on the big screen. And what’s doubly maddening is that many of those on fans’ wishlists involve Marvel characters.
You see, while Disney, Marvel’s parent company, lays claim to the cinematic rights to the wealth of their characters, there are numerous others – chief among them being those who reside under the X-Men and Fantastic Four umbrellas – that call Fox home. But, with Disney possibly purchasing Fox as soon as next week, a multitude of fan favorites could soon be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tis the season to be...well informed. We all love Christmas, but how much do any of us actually know about why Christmas is the way it is? Here are 31 facts about Christmas trees, Santa Claus, and Rudolph that you (probably) didn’t know. Smarten up! 1. Christmas supposedly marks the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. But there is no mention of December 25 in the Bible and most historians actually believe he was born in the spring. 2. December 25 was probably chosen because it coincided with the ancient pagan festival Saturnalia, which celebrated the agricultural god Saturn with partying, gambling, and gift-giving. 3. Many of the popular Christmas traditions today found their roots in Saturnalia: Branches from evergreen trees were used during winter solstice as a reminder of the green plants that would grow in spring when the sun gods grew strong. 4. These evergreen branches became the foundation of our Christmas tree. Germans are thought...

Lindsay Lohan is a single lady and loving life!
The 31-year-old actress caught up with Et at the Daily Mail's Unwrap the Holidays party in New York City on Wednesday, where she dished on her love life and all her upcoming projects, including her involvement in a Mean Girls sequel and Life Size 2.
"We've spoken, but not enough," Lohan told Et about being in contact with Tyra Banks on a Life Size sequel. "Maybe when I'm here [in the U.S.], I can talk to her about it."
Back in August, Banks told Et that she was in "conversations" with Lohan about reprising her role and that the actress was "excited to come back."
As far as sequels go, Lohan is definitely "game" for a Mean Girls reunion.
"I'm here in New York, so Tina Fey better be hiding or I'm going to find her and Lorne Michaels. I know where his desk is," she joked, adding...

As Southern California continues to be engulfed by a series of wildfires that have forced the mandatory evacuation of thousands, celebrities are leaving their multimillion-dollar homes to seek safety.
Since Monday, at least 180 structures have been destroyed by raging wildfires across Los Angeles and Ventura County. More than 65,000 acres have burned so far, and L.A.’s notoriously traffic-dense freeways have been clogged with cars as residents evacuate and city officials close routes due to the proximity of the flames. More than 1,700 firefighters are on duty in Ventura County to contain the flames, but many aren’t able to enter...

As Twitter user @caraallieray puts it, “There’s a lot happening, but I keep obsessing on how Trump said owning pets is ‘low class.’ ”
This shocking comment is pulled from a recent article in The Atlantic, regarding Vice President Mike Pence.
In the piece, an adviser tells The Atlantic that President Trump reportedly thinks pets are “low class” and was “embarrassed” when Pence announced in January that he and his family would be moving into the Naval Observatory with their pets — which included,...

Hey, "Bold and The Beautiful" fans. Wow, today's December 6,2017 episode got even more intense with Steffy than we thought it would. We knew she would be stressed out again, but she snapped at Liam like nobody's business! We thought surely he must know she's hiding something at that point. But no. He still thinks it's because he hurt her so much. Here's the thing though. Steffy's latest lie about where she went that night she had an affair with Bill is really going to come back to bite her later this week when Quinn tells Liam a different version of where Steffy was that night. That's right guys. She's going to tell Liam that Steffy was not alone. We're sure that will finally create enough suspicion for Liam to demand to know what Steffy is hiding. At least we sure hope so. As for tomorrow's Thursday, December 7,2017 episode,...

2017-12-06T12:00:18-08:00Alec Baldwin Doesn't Like John Oliver's Show (or Does He?)
Alec Baldwin might want to clarify his thoughts before he tweets. He faced backlash this week after he appeared to criticize John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Stephen Colbert for their treatment of accused sexual harassers. Baldwin said that shows like Oliver's and Colbert's have become more like "grand juries" than the "blithe chit chat" they used to be. Baldwin later appeared to hedge, saying that he wasn't actually taking a stance on the issue, but many Twitter users weren't buying it.

Serena Williams is reaching out to her “fellow moms” for advice.
Although it’s been just three months since she welcomed her first child with Alexis Ohanian, daughter Alexis Olympia, the tennis champion already has a hard time thinking about when the time comes to stop breastfeeding.
“Fellow moms: How long did you breastfeed?” the 36-year-old asked on Twitter Wednesday alongside a sweet photo of her daughter resting in her arms. “Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it’s time to stop?”
Many women responded with their own experiences, including Broadway star Audra McDonald.

Blazes in Southern California are currently wreaking havoc on the film and television community. The 405 Freeway has been partly shut down due to a brush fire that started last night and now encompasses 50 acres, per the Los Angeles Fire Department. That fire endangers the famed Getty and Skirball Cultural Centers; according to Bloomberg, Rupert Murdoch’s Bel Air estate is among those that fall within the evacuation zone.
These are in addition to four active fires reported yesterday in the counties of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura, plus one in Santa Clarita that raged across tens of thousands of acres, with the Ventura fire requiring 27,000 residents to evacuate.
Valencia and Newfall, California have also endured the Rye Fire since yesterday, necessitating a two-day (thus far) closure of Santa Clarita Studios, home to the new CBS crime drama “S.W.A.T.,” starring Shemar Moore.

What’s the one thing Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the recently-released Justice League all have common? You know, besides Zack Snyder and all the trappings of the DC Extended Universe…
That’s right, they all feature Henry Cavill’s Superman in some shape or form – even if Justice League‘s marketing campaign says otherwise. And according to a new rumor posted by El Fanboy’s Mario-Francisco Robles, Warner Bros. is “mulling over” a possible Blu-ray trilogy that bundles together those three aforementioned superhero flicks.
File this one in the rumor cabinet for now, but Robles’ allegation gets really interesting when the scribe mentions an extended cut of Justice League, which will seemingly be a part of that yet-to-be-confirmed trilogy. Assuming this is true, it’ll be a bumper version of the theatrical cut, not the fabled Zack Snyder version that is said to be floating around cyberspace.

Beyoncé‘s surprise appearance to present former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick with Sports Illustrated’s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award definitely didn’t go unnoticed — in fact, Twitter was strongly divided in their reactions.
Some threatened to cancel their subscriptions to the magazine for giving an award to Kaepernick, who made headlines in 2016 when he started kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police brutality toward people of color. More players joined him, sparking a movement lasting into the 2017 season.
However, many were thrilled to see the 30-year-old athlete get recognition — and even more excited that Beyoncé was on hand to do the honors.
