A new season of The Masked Singer has begun, and one performer already has the fans and judges divided: The Medusa. She made her debut on the season 9 premiere and took the crown as Queen of the episode, leaving her identity a mystery for at least another week. The Masked Singer judges couldn’t agree on a name for Medusa, but many viewers (including us) are convinced she’s a well-known British vocalist.
[Spoiler alert: The following story contains spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 9 premiere.]

Something was being cooked in the Ukraine matter, according to impeachment inquiry testimony from Dr. Fiona Hill, a former official at the National Security Council specializing in Soviet, Russian and European affairs.
In a segment titled Corroborating Evidence, The Late Show host Stephen Colbert broke down her testimony. Hill indicated that during a meeting, former national security adviser John Bolton indicated that he thought Rudolph Giuliani was “a hand grenade that’s going to blow everyone up.”
“He seems more like a Molotov cocktail to me,” quipped Colbert. “Used by Russians and full of alcohol.”
Hill testified that she attended a July 11 meeting with Bolton, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, and European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland, during which the conditions of Ukraine leader Volodymyr Zelensky getting a meeting were discussed. After the meeting, Bolton told Hill to go to National Security Council legal adviser John Eisenberg and report that Bolton was...

The cameras are about to start rolling on Exam director Stuart Hazeldine’s latest, the adaptation of William Paul Young’s 2007 novel The Shack. He’s just added some new actors to the cast, including Radha Mitchell, Graham Greene and Aviv Alush.Adapted by John Fusco from Young’s book, the story follows a man (Sam Worthington) whose youngest daughter is kidnapped during a family holiday. Evidence turns up in an abandoned shack to suggest she was murdered, which stymies the case. But then, four years later, he receives a note, apparently from God, inviting him to go back to the ruined building. He accepts, against his better judgment, and what he finds there changes his life forever. As it turns out, he might be in luck twice over, as Greene is on to play Male Papa, a calm and serene representation of the deity, with Spencer playing the female take.

Chicago – Early incarnations of “Godzilla,” for example, were so memorable because of the characters and its story. The “special effects” were laughable, but the films caught on despite it because they had heart.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
Fast forward to today when the reverse tends to happen. Many films overprioritize their special effects but forget to begin from a quality script and craft memorable characters. Without starting there, all you’ve got is an exotic Lamborghini on the outside with a lawnmower engine failing to chug it along. Though Hollywood is currently addicted to eye candy, special effects should be a complement rather than a replacement.
“Into the Storm” is directed by Steven Quale. We’ve only seen him in the director’s chair once before at the helm of “Final Destination 5,” but he also served as a visual effects supervisor on “Avatar.” “Into the Storm” opens with a tense and well-executed introductory scene,...

It’s confession time – I have a great affection for big, loud action/disaster movies that are made really well. I mean, it’s not a guilty pleasure thing – it’s a deep, abiding adoration. Speed, Jurassic Park, Cloverfield – these are all firmly among my favourite movies. Twister, for me, is the gold standard. Epic, humorous, heartfelt and unrelenting – the last best film of Jan De Bont’s directorial career has remained unsurpassed in the realm of inclement weather films for 18 years. Could the upcoming tornado flick Into The Storm be a real contender in the genre? If the new trailer is any indication, the odds are definitely in its favour.
Directed by Steven Quale (Final Destination 5), from a script by John Swetnam (Evidence), Into The Storm sees a group of high school students face the events and aftermath of an unprecedented series of devastating tornadoes that descend upon their town.

In news that sounds as if it was ripped straight out of some kind of Movie Mad Libs, Deadline is reporting that R&B singer John Legend has teamed up with rising screenwriter star John Swetnam to make the world’s first found footage dance film. The film will be titled Breaking Through and is described as “a documentary-style dance drama for the YouTube generation.” In addition to producing the film alongside Legend, Swetnam will also pen the feature and helm it, making it his feature directorial debut. As random as the news may sound, Swetnam’s still-growing resume is actually evidence of his interest in both subgenres – he’s got a pair of found-footage-heavy features in the can (Evidence, which was based on his short of the same name, along with the natural disaster found footage feature Into the Storm, which arrives in August) and a dance film with a beloved pedigree on the way (he...

All the way back in 2011, I reviewed a found footage film called Evidence (no relation to the Stephen Moyer film of the same name) and found it a bit of a mess that descended into "everything but the kitchen sink" antics in the third act. That film is finally getting a DVD release from Osiris Entertainment on April 15th. That's the box art you see here; we have a new trailer for you as well.

Back in early 2011 reports were that Aussie director Greg McLean would be tackling Lionsgate's new supernatural feature '6 Miranda Drive'. A project that was even set to hold up his plans for 'Wolf Creek 2'. Now nearly 3 years later the outback slasher sequel is in the can and there's no still no sign of '6 Miranda Drive'. However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, McLean is back in action with Blumhouse and Chapter One Films taking over production proceedings. And the micro-budgeted thriller has scored its leading man in the form of Kevin Bacon -below ('The Following'). 'Evidence' star Radha Mitchell is also currently in talks for a supporting role....

It’s always exciting news when Syfy picks up a brand new scripted series, and we have high hopes for Dominion, based on characters from the 2010 movie Legion, as Syfy today announced its series order. We have equally high hopes that Syfy is making room for the new series on a new night – like maybe Thursdays? – and isn’t making room by finishing off one of our favorite no-longer-new series. Please.

Yes they’re still calling it a pilot, but at least Syfy is issuing press releases about the Dominion project in development. Hopefully now that they have the major casting out of the way, they can get going on this and we’ll be hearing that it’s great and that it’s green-lit for a series run.

We first told you back in July about Syfy giving the green light to the pilot Dominion, based on characters in the 2010 film Legion. Back then we had little to go on besides a sketchy paragraph about it being set 25 years in the future after an epic war between an army of angels and humankind.
Now we have more, including not only the casting of three major characters (at least two of whom are likely familiar to you) but a lot more in the way of plot and character detail.
Although I’m completely enthusiastic and encouraging about this pilot, the fact that one of the actors, Christopher Egan, was also cast in the pilot Gothica as Dorian Gray proves that casting a pilot by no means guarantees its pickup to series.
You have been warned; get excited about this, but don’t fall in love just yet:

What's It About? Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke tells the heart-wrenching story of an elderly couple fighting against the deterioration of the body and mind in this brutally honest French drama. Georges struggles to take care of his wife as watches her gradually lose her ability to move and speak.
Why We're In: One of the most powerful films in recent years and winner of the 2012 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, "Amour" shows love at its most harrowing. Known as a horror master, Haneke uses slow-pacing and raw storytelling in this film to truly show life's real horrors. Just to be clear, the proposed series Dominion is not based on “a movie legend,” it’s based on “the” movie entitled Legend. To continue on with the clarity, Syfy has greenlit the pilot, not the series. Still, I’m always up for a good epic series, so here’s hoping. It’s being written by the same man who’s working on the Ringworld miniseries, which I’m also hoping will be making it to our TV screens. Here are the details:

Many years ago the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup folks had an awesome ad campaign that went like this:
"Hey. you got your peanut butter in my chocolate!" "Hey, you got your chocolate in my peanut butter!" "You're both right! It's two great tastes that taste great together!" The main reason I remember this ancient TV commercial is because I see a lot of horror movies. And I find myself thinking "Hey, you got your Alien in my Silent Hill!" or something similarly silly. I mention all of this nonsense because of a goofy new horror thriller called Evidence, which I'd describe thusly: "Hey, you got your found footage horror film in my boring cop story!" "Hey, you got your boring cop story in my..." You get the point. Rare is the film that feels more like two small movies wedged together, but that's precisely what Evidence is. Wholly familiar, entirely predictable,...

The accident turns out to be the scene of a grizzly mass murder. A group of individuals were on their way to Las Vegas when their bus ran into some trouble. Stranded in the desert with no cell signal, no emergency phone and almost no water, they make their way to a garage they passed a few miles away where they run into even more trouble. All of these details are pieced together by the police with the help of the lone survivor and the various cameras found on the scene. But Evidence isn't your typical investigative thriller where the cops hit the pavement in search of clues. "Witnesses lie. Director: Olatunde Osunsanmi. Writer: John Swetnam. Cast: Caitlin Stasey, Torrey DeVitto, Harry Lennix, Svetlana Metkina, Dale Dickey, Radha Mitchell and Stephen Moyer. Evidence is a film from first time screenwriter John Swetnam. His screenplay is set-up much like a typical slasher film, but this title is really more of a thriller. Evidence stars Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill) and Stephen Moyer ("True Blood"). Both actors play detectives, who are trying to piece together a series of murders via found videotape. They are mostly successfull; yet, the killer or killers is always one step ahead of them. And, Evidence is a solid entry in the found footage style of filmmaking. The film's story involves several passengers, journeying to Las Vegas. The future magician, chorus line dancer, fugitive and shady bus driver are some of the characters on the bus. Each character is given a few lines of dialogue, before they are chased...

Title: Evidence Director: Olatunde Osunsanmi (‘The Fourth Kind’) Starring: Stephen Moyer (TV’s ‘True Blood), Radha Mitchell (‘Olympus Has Fallen,’ ‘Silent Hill’) and Torrey DeVitto (TV’s ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ ‘The Vampire Diaries’) Simply putting a camera in a character’s hand to capitalize on the success of such hit found footage horror films as ‘Paranormal Activity’ and ‘The Last Exorcism’ has proven to take away from the credibility and effectiveness of the genre. But director Olatunde Osunsanmi, who last visited the genre with 2009′s ‘The Fourth Kind,’ visually and emotionally showcased the true effectiveness that helped make the genre gratifying in its inception. with his new horror thriller, ‘Evidence.’ The terrifying events [ Read More ]

By now many have grown tired of found footage movies. It’s easy to understand why a bit of fatigue has set in. In Evidence, at least there is a somewhat fresh angle, even if it eventually suffers from some of the same problems as others in the genre. It ends up being mildly intriguing but not entirely successful.
The action begins in the Nevada desert, some 70 miles outside of Las Vegas. Huge teams of law enforcement officials are working a large crime scene, gathering and bagging evidence and analyzing the area. After getting a glimpse of the crime scene we cut to a press conference. Detective Burquez (Radha Mitchell) informs the media that not much is known and there is little she can tell them. People are dead but she can’t say more. She promises to keep them posted.

Stephen Moyer is trading in his fangs for a badge in the first trailer for "Evidence," an indie thriller being released on July 19. The "True Blood" star plays a detective hunting a twisted serial killer by using found footage shot by the victims during the murders. See video: 'True Blood' Season 6 Previews: Friends, Frenemies and Faeries As you can probably tell from the premise, it's a graphic psychological horror in the vein of "Saw," which adds, but does not entirely rely upon, the found footage formula made popular by films like "The...

After the jump, you'll find a first look at the one-sheets for Evidence, a found footage thriller, and The Colony, a post-apocalyptic/cannibal film.
The latter stars Bill Paxton, Laurence Fishburne and Kevin Zegers. Set during the next ice age, an outpost of colonists struggle to survive below the world's frozen surface. Short on supplies, and plagued by illness and internal conflict, the colonists suspect the worst when they mysteriously lose contact with their only other known settlement, Colony 5.
Evidence, meanwhile, stars Stephen Moyer, Radha Mitchell, Torrey Devitto, Caitlin Stasey and Dale Dickey and was written by John Swetnam. It tells the story of a team of detectives (Moyer, Mitchell) trying to piece together what happened at the site of a brutal massacre using a number of recording devices found at the crime scene. Evidence is a standard crime thriller that transitions into a found footage styled horror film. The transition can be seen here, with the film's official trailer. Also, Evidence stars horror genre favourites Stephen Moyer ("True Blood") and Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill). This title is slated for a Summer release. In the trailer, Dets. Burquez (Mitchell) and Reese (Moyer) work together to piece together a video narrative. Five people have been found murdered and each demise has been caught on videotape. A masked psychopath has used various vicious tools of death to burn and maim his victims. And, this case might break both detectives, who are exposed to the horrifying events onscreen. Those events are partially shown through video clips and also through a standard narration. Evidence will release on several formats. First, the film will be shown on video-on-demand June 31st, 2013. Then, Evidence will be shown in a few theatres July 19th,...

Check out a new batch of images and a poster for Olatunde Osunsanmi’s crime thriller “Evidence”, starring Radha Mitchell, who knows a thing or two about uncovering crimes, and Stephen Moyer, who is pretty used to being around blood at this point. The film looks like a traditional narrative with some Found Footage elements. I’m still not the biggest fan of the Found Footage genre, but I suppose in little spurts it’s okay. A team of detectives attempt to piece together what happened at the scene of a brutal massacre using a number of recording devices found at the crime scene. The footage reveals a group of bus passengers who were forced to fight for their lives after they crash in the middle of the desert and a mysterious killer violently murders them one by one. Part Found Footage and part traditional narrative, I can already predict that “The Fourth Kind” director Olatunde Osunsanmi’s latest horror outing “Evidence” will only partially annoy me. Having Radha Mitchell in the cast will lessen the annoyance factor even further, though there’s really nothing about “Evidence” that would convince me the screenplay ignited a bidding war back in 2011. I mean, it looks fine, but it doesn’t look like anything groundbreaking, but maybe that’s just the non-fan of Found Footage in me talking. Anyways, check out the first trailer and some images for “Evidence”, which is coming to you on VOD June 21, 2013, before opening in select theaters a month later on July 19, 2013, and then finally landing on DVD a month after that on August 20, 2013. Evidence brings genre favorites Radha Mitchell and Stephen Moyer together as they sort through found footage in order to solve a string of savage murders. The trailer looks pretty damn awesome and its waiting for you inside For those unaware Evidence was a fun little found footage flick that crawled out of Southern California last year. Some crazy creatures and emaciated goons stalked the film and to be honest it was a pretty unique idea that was shot quite well (the flick deserved far more attention than it received). Well the Evidence were about to reference here isnt the same Evidence although it is a found feature film which looks like it takes place in Southern California.

After the jump, get your first ever look at Evidence, the new found footage thriller starring True Blood's Stephen Moyer and genre vet Radha Mitchell. In the film, directed by The Fourth Kind's Olatunde Osunsanmi, footage from a crime scene is actually found and pieced together to solver mystery. Image Entertainment will distribute, but no release date has been set.
The film opens in the middle of the desert outside of Los Angeles, where a massacre has just occurred. The only evidence at the crime scene is the victim's personal electric devices, including a camcorder, Flip Cam and two cell phones. So, it literally is a film in which footage is "found" with the two detectives analyzing the bits of found footage to piece together the identity of the ruthless killer.

I can.t say I felt much for Olatunde Osunsanmi.s 2009 sci-fi docu-drama The Fourth Kind, but the multi-textural format he used to tell the story was intriguing enough to keep Osunsanmi on my radar, and I.m more intrigued by his next film, the semi-found-footage thriller Evidence, though I fear it may fall into similar narrative trappings. The above trailer, via Dread Central, is different from what I was expecting, and it.s both a blessing and a curse. For the film, Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Radha Mitchell (Red Widow) play two detectives tasked with figuring out the who, the how, and possibly the why behind a mass killer.s massacre near a bus crash in the desert. Beyond all the physical evidence, they.re left with a bunch of different recording devices found at the scene; cell phones and things like that. So it appears as if...

The Fourth Kind is a decent thriller about alien abduction that's hampered by director Olatunde Osunsanmi's faked found-footage style that's more obtrusive than it is convincing. But Osunsanmi isn't giving up the pseudo found-footage hook just yet. He's clearly a fan of the format, as seen by the first trailer for his new film Evidence. Only this time, the format actually seems to be supported by the story. Evidence is about a pair of detectives (Radha Mitchell and Stephen Moyer) investigating a massacre at an abandoned gas station with absolutely no leads as to who actually turned it into a gas and slash. Their main source of clues to finding the killer lies within the footage shot by the victims. So, it's still a traditional narrative point of view, but it...
