Season 3
niilten2 September 2023
How I met your father deserved better. Season 2 proved that this series has the potential needed to succeed. I can't believe hulu just cancelled it. I'm so upset and disappointed. I really was hoping for season 3 to happen. Moreover, I was really waiting to see more development of Sidphie!!! And now it seems like it's over. I hope some other network pick this tv show since it's hilarious and entertaining. I feel sorry for all the crew and actors who did their best but guess it does not matter to hulu! At least there should have been a final season to wrap things up somehow. #SaveHIMYF #SaveHowIMetYourFather.

Need A Season Three As Soon As Possible!!

Warning: Spoilers
If this show gets cancelled, I'm going to be mad! We have one possible baby daddy out of the race. 4 More possibilities (that we know of so far) of who the father of Sophie's son. Jessie and Sophie are together again, However Sid and his (Ex) wife are probably getting divorced and let's hope he finds someone in the upcoming seasons. I truly can't wait for Charlie and Val to get back together and have that baby we saw in the Polaroid picture. How I met your father will never be how I met your father however is a newer more curiosity filled tv series and this episode proved to me that we're gonna get one hell of a story and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Yay!!!!

Two huge payoffs!!!! This is such a great fun "fluff" show!!!

I am so glad that Hulu brought this fabulous show to us. As someone who watched every episode of How I Met Your Mother, this iteration has all of the same wonderful quirkiness & humor as the original, but without any of the gross misogyny (sorry Barney) There has not been a single episode where I have not laughed out loud at least once. If you are on the fence even a little bit, please please take a couple hours and just watch some episodes, everyone is so lovable and I don't want to risk this getting canceled too early.

How I Met Your Mother is still one of my favorite comfort shows to have on in the background, and I know that How I Met Your Father will absolutely be one also!!

Good but familiar....

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert for this episode/show and "How I met your Mother" episodes-

The two ratings for this episode are high so far but makes me wonder if they are "How I met your mother" fans. Because the conclusion of this episode, although rewarding as a viewer, is oddly familiar. The ending was almost exactly like the end of HIMYM season 1 episode 22 where the "will they/won't they" pair with narrator, Ted, and love interest, Robin, finally get together, and guess what? It's also raining "on the streets of New York." All on the same night that Lily breaks off her engagement with Marshall to move to San Francisco. Hmmm... I like the nostalgia but come on.. (Come on Ted jk).

Feeling like I've seen this before... but this time it's Sophie and Jesse instead of Ted and Robin at the same time as Sid and (pretty forgettable) Hannah break off their marriage. (I mean Hannah is no Lily!)

Then Ellen denying that it's a hurricane in the last episode and then the name of this episode is referring to her comment, well, all of that is oddly similar to Robin denying it's a hurricane in HIMYM season 7 episode 9 where there is a skeptic, Robin, who keeps comparing the weather to Canadian weather and how it's not a big deal.

Anyway, just left feeling like I've seen this before. After these first 2 seasons, I haven't been left feeling this way until now. That being said, I do still feel like I am wondering who the "father" is.. And then the reveal that Val does end up having a child with Charlie- who was basically mentioned in the Valentine's Day episode by future Sophie (HIMYF season 2 ep 7) as one of the potential fathers. So I am mentally crossing him off of the list, or maybe it could still be a half brother weird thing? Haha but doubt it.

Then I am still debating, is this plot flaw all part of the writers strike? Just pull a finale out of previous plots? I was enjoying all of the HIMYM easter eggs and some cameos, but come on, can't we be more original here?

Idk tomorrow I may change my mind but tonight I feel downright bamboozled. Lol.

Warning: Spoilers
I feel like they needed to find a way to write Hannah off. A little rushed with her having a fling with someone it turns out she really cared about, but it could work in explaining how Sid doesn't have to move to LA or move out of his shared apartment.

Of course, they could always abandon this and just have them get back together, but I think that is the wrong move.

Jesse and Sophie reuniting was predictable, but I am sure there will be many hurdles for them to navigate in season three so it will not be all perfect. We just have to hope that there are some laughs along the way of all the chaos.
