Chris O'Dowd and Nick Murphy's charming, funny sitcom Moone Boy soon returns to Sky for its second series. See the trailer here...
Prime yourself for some early nineties nostalgic fun as Moone Boy returns to television for its second series.
Developed from one of Sky's Little Crackers comedy shorts, the Chris O'Dowd and Nick Vincent Murphy-written series tells the story of loveable lad Martin Moone, and his travails growing up in late eighties/early nineties Ireland with a houseful of sisters and an imaginary friend (O'Dowd).
A third series of the sitcom has already been commissioned by Sky, and series two promises more Martin, more pubsecent humiliation, more comedy guest stars, and most importantly of all, more of Martin's best friend Padraic. We love Padraic. In fact, we were big fans of the entire first series, as you can probably tell from this.

Sky's director of entertainment channels Stuart Murphy has revealed that the broadcaster is seeking a new star-led sitcom.
Murphy announced that he wants to commission a "Sky version" of popular BBC comedies such as Miranda and Not Going Out.
"On Sky1, we're looking for an audience sitcom with a big star at the centre," Broadcast quotes him as saying.

Iconic Japanese actor Akira Takarada, who starred as Hideto Ogata in director Ishiro Honda's 1954 classic Gojira, Aka Godzilla, King of the Monsters, joins the cast of Gareth Edwards' upcoming remake.
Veteren actor Takarada has appeared in several Godzilla movies, including Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Godzilla vs. Monster Zero (1965), Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster (1966), Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) and Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). However, his role as Ogata in the original is the one he is best remembered for. There’s no word on whether his character will be a link to the original Godzilla continuity or not, but it’s a great coup to have him there, either way.
Gareth Edwards has also added another cast member to his movie. British actress Sally Hawkins will play a scientist. Hawkins is best known for Little Crackers and Great Expectations.

We’ve put a spotlight on some of the UK Christmas telly specials you won’t want to miss this festive season…
You know that pub conversation we’ve all had, the one about what you’d show an alien race on the brink of wiping out planet Earth to convince them we are essentially a well-meaning, productive, and often beautiful species that deserves to live? No contest: a Christmas issue of the Radio Times.
In 1969, an astronaut walked on the moon and someone thought up the Christmas Radio Times, both of them landmarks of brilliant stuff achieved by humans. They must have been thinner then - not astronauts, copies of the Radio Times - back when there were fewer TV channels than there are now Shrek films.

With new seasons of existing shows to get me through the year, this list was a hard one to devise.
10. Fox’s Napoleon Dynamite
Following the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite the series follows the adventures of Dynamite and his family and friends. With Simpsons/Parks and Rec producer Mike Scully as executive producer, the franchise has been successfully modernised and molded for the TV realm.
The original cast is back as their characters and there are some new faces too. Unfortunately with Dynamite being constantly being compared to Fox’s other animated shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy, the show saw cancellation right after the first season.
9. ABC’s Last Resort
Along with 666 Park Avenue, ABC unfortunately cancelled Last Resort this year. A stimulating, new drama with a highly fascinating concept, Last Resort is about the renegade crew of a U.S. navy missile submarine.
With impressive special effects and remarkable submarine interior shots,...

Following the success of Kathy Burke's Little Cracker short film, which aired on Sky 1 over Christmas 2010, the actress has written her first ever TV series, which has been picked up by Sky Atlantic.
