The hairdresser salon where Maryse works is called D.S. Early in the film, her son is drawing a picture of a car in his grandfather (the car salesman and Maryse's father) office. Just beside his drawing, we can see a picture of a Citroen DS.
At the ice-fishing, the scene where Marcel is talking on his cell phone with the frozen scenery in the background is reminiscent of paintings by Québec artist Jean-Paul Lemieux (1904-1990) famous for his wintery landscapes with lone characters.
-The garage in which the film was shot, actually closed during the shooting.
