Not A Bad Short But Obviously Not As Good As The End
Theo Robertson6 March 2014
During The Spanish Inquisition an attendant dresses the wounds of a heretic who now faces death . The attendant tells for one final time if he repents he will be saved but the heretic refuses . He does tell the attendant that there is an escape route

I'm still reeling from seeing Ted Marcus previous film THE END so tracked down his earlier work INFERNUM which despite not having a great rating on this site was still a short I wanted to watch . One can understand why it isn't rated so highly . In its favour it is very well acted and the technical aspects are very good especially the cinematography that gives the film and glorious rich texture rarely seen in a short and even other things that get overlooked by me such as costume design are splendid here . The problem is that the story isn't all that good and I did feel I was going to be left a little frustrated by its ending and this ended up becoming a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts and I did indeed feel slightly disappointed which is a pity . It's certainly one of the best looking films I've seen but nowhere as devastatingly brilliant as THE END was . I'll still be looking forward to Ted Marcus other future projects though
