- Chuck, Sarah, and Casey must travel to Morocco to rescue suave former agent Roan Montgomery. Morgan meet's Alex's mother, and Mary Bartowski acclimates herself to civilian life and spends time with her new granddaughter.
- MARRAKESH, MOROCCO
A man in a dinner jacket walks smoothly through a club, searching for his target. He apologizes to someone on the phone; someone he was supposed to meet. He then finds what he is looking for in Fatima Tazi, a lady who has successfully counterfeited a U.S. $100 bill. He wants to meet her and hits on a woman in the club to find out about her. And then two other women join them, one of whom has a taser gun disguised as a lipstick case. He is knocked out. But for Roan Montgomery (John Larroquette), "what a way to go."
Surrounding baby Clara is NOT the way Chuck (Zachary Levi), Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), or Casey (Adam Baldwin) want to go. They're a bit scared, and Casey is even more scared when Morgan (Joshua Gomez) asks him to try and patch things up with Alex's (Mekenna Melvin) mother. Morgan thinks Kathleen knowing Casey is still alive will help him when he has to go visit her. Casey doesn't want to, but it's for Morgan. Meanwhile, the talk of weddings is freaking Chuck and Sarah out. Devon (Ryan McPartlin) already has plans for Clara to be the flower girl ("Woodcombs can walk at six or seven months."). But the proverbial straw on the camel's back is Mary Bartowski (Linda Hamilton) documenting the last time Clara did a #1 (23 minutes), a #2 (51 minutes), and 76 minutes since her last feeding. Chuck, Sarah, and Casey need a mission...desperately!
Fortunately, they contact Beckman (Bonita Friedericy), who is three sheets to the wind worrying about Roan Montgomery. She sends the team off-book to Morocco. Apparently, historical events happen around the romance of Beckman and Roan, such as Berlin in 1989, Iraq in 1991, Florida in 2000. But Roan has other ideas when he meets Fatima Tazi, such as offering Tazi the chance to do business with her counterfeiting plant.
Sarah talks to Chuck about the wedding plans his family already have made for the two. Her idea is to elope. Just get it done in some romantic location. Chuck tells her it sounds like a good idea...and tells Morgan it's a horrible idea. He doesn't want some smelly stranger who's the cousin of the guy marrying them to be his best man, and Morgan doesn't think "some old lady who smells like Thousand Island dressing is standing up for Sarah" is the best thing. Morgan says it is time for Chuck to put his foot down to a woman ('cause that NEVER goes badly) and tell Sarah he wants his family at the wedding. Morgan doesn't know how to deal with meeting Alex's mom, but having Casey tell her he's alive was not in the plans, according to Alex. She's upset, but Morgan promises to fix it.
Morgan suggests some practice "no's" for Chuck to warm him up. But saying no to water in the desert and no to pliers really doesn't work too well, especially since they're cutting through the gates of Tazi's compound to rescue Roan. A wardrobe change (plus accidental touching between Chuck and Casey), plus a couple of tranqs to his guards later, and they have to untie Roan. If only he was tied up against his will...which he wasn't. He wasn't happy that Beckman put a tracker in his birthday present watch, but Fatima was returning, so Chuck and Sarah hid behind a drapery while Casey hid under the bed. Chuck had to prevent a dust-related sneeze ("Chuck, if you get us caught because you sneeze, we are officially the worst spies in the world."-Sarah). And for some inexplicable reason, Chuck decided that was a good time to tell Sarah no...to pulling Roan out of there mid-seduction. And then he sneezes. Chuck, Sarah, and Roan are sent to the dungeon, but Casey isn't found.
Roan noticed our romantic couple weren't the flirty, hot couple they were before. Chuck reassures him they were very much in love and were going to get married. They were just having a bit of a disagreement and the ol' ball and chain wasn't being helpful.
SARAH: Are you calling me a ball and chain?
CHUCK: No, there's a ball and chain...an ACTUAL ball and chain...do you not see it on the ground, attached to my leg?
Sarah wanted to know about the "no's" Chuck had been throwing around lately. Chuck said very directly that he didn't want to elope. And Sarah wants to know why he gets to say 'no'. What about what she wants? Meanwhile, Casey attempts to seduce the not-quite-runway-model-ready guard watching them. And does pretty well...until he lets slip she isn't thin. Then he has to go with the classic Casey tranq-and-explode method to get them out. Roan decides he doesn't want to go back to the States, which Beckman warned the team about, so Casey tranqs him and tells Chuck and Sarah he'll get to the bottom of the counterfeit notes.
Back in Burbank, Beckman is livid, Montgomery is trying to charm his way out of it, and Chuck and Sarah are caught in a very awkward situation. Beckman tells Chuck and Sarah to be on standby to rescue Casey, while Roan becomes a green shirt in the Buy More.
ROAN: I've never felt polyester against my skin before. I feel a chafing. The chafe of stylesness.
Chuck asks him about Beckman. It goes back to Berlin, 1989. ("Not a good year to build walls in East Germany.") Roan was heading to Moscow, and Beckman (a dirty-blonde Beckman!) was heading to D.C. Beckman wanted to know about them, and Roan promised to be a couple with her in 20 years and lead a normal life.
CHUCK: Beckman was a dirty blonde?
ROAN: It was the 80's. Everything was a dirty blonde.
He wasn't expecting to last 20 years, and he called a few days ago from Marrakesh to apologize to her. He can't be normal; it's not who he is. Chuck agrees, since he can't be the eloping type. Time for some Roan advice. (almost worked for the dinner jacket and single red rose, right?)
ROAN: When you want to convince an intimate relation, you have to set the scene for the conversation. Create an erotic atmosphere. Everything is easier with sex in the air.
Chuck arrives home in a very nice suit and tie. Only Sarah must have talked to Roan, too, as she greets him in a belly dancer outfit...and honestly, I don't know what happened next. I actually don't even know my own name right now...oh, sorry. Both of them figure out the other was using a sexual atmosphere to convince them.
SARAH: And why are you wearing that outfit?
CHUCK: Well, I'm trying to seduce you, too! Just...not clearly as well!
And the fight continues. But Beckman calls both of them to Castle. Sarah changes into the least sexy thing she owns (and still looks hot in it) to get a video update from Casey, who hid in the wall of Fatima's compound (he did it for the generalissimo) and is overhearing a meeting between Fatima and a group of financial backers. They want her counterfeiting mint in exchange for the $100 million in gold they gave her, but she has other plans...killing the backers in the process. Her plan is to dump $1 trillion dollars of her fake bills into circulation and destabilize the U.S. economy. Beckman has no choice. She has to send Roan back to Morocco with Chuck and Sarah. They try to convince the general even Roan can't seduce Fatima twice and she was sending Roan to his death. This apparently is not an issue with her.
Roan gets to climb up to Fatima's bedroom to seduce the location of the mint from her while Chuck and Sarah find Casey. Roan isn't happy about it, but he has some final words for the spy couple.
ROAN: Remember, you two are in love. Listen to each other, and don't go on a mission angry.
Roan makes it up there and is able to talk Tazi into some cognac first. It turns out Fatima's childhood home was stripped of its resources by an American corporation, which was why she was seeking revenge. And Beckman was very impatient and wanted Roan to get the location, even telling him so over his earpiece. Chuck and Sarah hear the entire conversation, which prompted them to be honest with each other. Sarah didn't want a big family wedding because she didn't have a big family. All she had was Chuck's family. And Casey is ready to cut his arm off to escape rather than listen to any more from the four lovebirds. Chuck and Sarah get to cutting Casey out of the wall, only to be stopped by Tazi's all-female army. However, the holes they put in the wall by shooting their investors work both ways, and Casey takes them out from inside the wall. Tazi tells Roan the name of her childhood town, and Beckman finds the mint, ordering an airstrike on it. Tazi feels betrayed and is ready to take out Roan...and Beckman agrees with her. Her last words to Roan: DUCK! Beckman pulls out her rocket launcher to take out Tazi's compound.
Back at home, Mary Bartowski wants to give Clara everything she couldn't give Chuck and Ellie (Sarah Lancaster), but Ellie says that's her job. But she still wants Mary to be around to be a grandmother, although she'd understand if she had to go back to spy world again. Morgan and Alex have a great dinner with Alex's mother...and her new boyfriend. Casey is sad, but he wants nothing but the best for Kathleen. Chuck and Sarah talk about the wedding, and Chuck promises to do for Sarah what she did for him...bring her family back together.
