Great short film -- I want more
judymclellan18 January 2011
The actors are very talented and I felt immediately immersed in the scene. I believe that the movie really did justice to the play. Even though the play was condensed down to 20 minutes, the heart of the original production was still there. The actors are incredibly talented, especially the two young men. I was definitely caught up in the authenticity of the shots, especially with the great directing. In addition, the lyrics were really well done. I hope that in the feature-lengthed film that we will have the opportunity to hear more rapping from the talented lyricist. My only outstanding question is: when is the feature film being released? I'm really looking forward to seeing it in the future.

Exceptional

As a true fan of hip-hop, and an understanding of what it means to be an "MC" (and not just a rapper) I could truly appreciate this film's depiction of two young men's quest for something "greater." But beyond that, and without saying more than necessary, the film contains socioeconomic undertones, as it explores "urbanness," gender, the excitement that chasing and realizing the "American dream" brings to individuals, among other topics. This is amplified, as is the case here, when the "dream" is also a way out, and the stakes are even higher. For most in these characters' situations, this may be the only shot they get (especially when it comes to music, and even more so when it comes to rap). The result is a film that exposes how people cope, prepare and think differently when faced with this situation. The short was gritty, authentic, and completely enjoyable.

Engaging Drama about Struggle
mao36528 January 2011
I just saw this and was very impressed. The actors are very strong. They're all double threats, acting and rhyming. Production value is up there. Sound is especially good. And the shots are all visually compelling. But most engaging is the story, which deals with young people struggling for something better in life. Without giving away the ending, let's just say that there's equal mix of hope and sadness.

I enjoyed watching this and give it a resounding thumbs up. I think the film was shot in the Bronx and it adds to the film. Basically, it doesn't get any more authentic street NY than this. The film is exactly what the title says, it's for flow.
