Lindsey Gordon is exiting her post at MGM Television.
Previously MGM’s senior vice president of unscripted development, Gordon is transitioning to independent producer and under a new overall deal, will now develop and produce original series for the studio.
“It has been a great honor to be part of the MGM Television team for the last three years and to have worked with Mark for almost seven now,” said Gordon in a statement. “Together, we have created and executed many projects that I am proud of and I look forward to continuing that work with this partnership.”
Gordon joined Mark Burnett Productions in 2011 and stayed with the team through the acquisition by MGM. She has worked closely with MGM’s Mark Burnett, chairman of the worldwide television group, and Barry Poznick, president of unscripted television.

From The Shining to I Origins, these are just some of the worst offenders when it comes to moving between floors...
This article contains spoilers for just about every film on its list.
I don’t know when it started exactly.
When I was very young, it was fine. I maybe even enjoyed getting on an elevator and being whisked off, but somewhere in the timeline of my life, something changed. I began to dread stepping onto one. My heart would pound, a cold sweat would creep down my neck and my breath would quicken.
“What’s wrong?” a bemused acquaintance would ask as we were about to embark.
“Oh! Nothing, really,” I’d respond as casually as I could for someone suddenly about to lose control of their bowels. “I just thought I might take the stairs. Bit of exercise, you know.”
“But it…it’s 18 flights,...

Leave it to Hollywood treasure Meryl Streep to give Hollywood a 2017 rallying cry — and remind the industry, gathered Sunday night at the Beverly Hilton, that they have a voice and a say in where this country is heading.
Accepting the Golden Globe Awards’ Cecil B. deMille honor for lifetime achievement, Streep elicited tears and a standing ovation from the crowd as she reminded the Globes audience that Hollywood is made up of talent from all over the country — and the world.
“Hollywood is crawling with foreigners,” she said. “Take them all out and you’ll end up watching Monday Night Football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”

Did someone say Goonies reunion?
Ever since he was a child actor idolizing Michael Jackson, Corey Feldman has been trying to make a music career happen, releasing three albums to little fanfare. Well, now he’s come up with just the nostalgic bait to get people to pay attention, casting his Goonies co-star (and Lord of the Rings favorite) Sean Astin for a split-second cameo in his new “Ascension Millennium” music video. Hey, the cameo lasts all of five seconds, but the treasure map makes an appearance too!

"Star Wars" came to "Hollywood Treasure" (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on Syfy) Tuesday night as auctioneer Joe Maddalena got his hands on a camera that was used to shoot the first in the epic movie franchise.
"Star Wars" star Carrie Fisher’s brother Todd brought him the Panavision camera, and Todd knew it was valuable. So valuable, in fact, that he set his own high reserve price: "I want you to give me a guarantee of $100,000."
Todd also threw in a green dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in "Bus Stop." The dress fetched a whopping $230,000 at auction, but that seemed like chump change compared to the sale price for the camera.
How much for a piece of "Star Wars" history? It sold for a jaw-dropping $520,000, which, Maddalena said, made it "the most expensive 'Star Wars' collectible item of all time"

On the season premiere of "Hollywood Treasure" (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on Syfy) auctioneer Joe Maddalena got his hands on a legendary piece of Hollywood history: Judy Garland's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz."
Although four pairs of the slippers are known to exist, these were the actual ones that Garland clicked her heels in during the "there's no place like home" scene at the end of the movie.
The slippers had "Judy Garland" written in the lining and, most excitingly of all, "what appear to be very slight circular scuff marks. And that would of course be from when Judy -- clicking her heels."
How much for the iconic footwear? A whopping $2 million.

Maybe some of that movie storytelling magic is rubbing off, because Syfy's "Hollywood Treasure" launches its new season on Tuesday, May 22, by spotlighting the Holy Grail of Tinseltown collectibles: Dorothy's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz."
As most "Oz" fans know, there actually is a handful of known pairs of these slippers, including an Arabian-style pair never used in the film that were auctioned off last season as part of Debbie Reynolds' collection. But the footwear that Joe Maddalena, owner of Profiles in History, auctions in this new episode is the pair shown when Judy Garland's Dorothy clicks her heels together to go home.
"They arguably are the most important pair, because the pair in the Smithsonian and a pair that were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum were mismatched," Maddalena tells Zap2it. "I've done this 26 years now, and a couple of years ago when my...

The small North Carolina village that doubled as District 12 in The Hunger Games is up for auction after failing to sell on the property market.
The Henry River Mill Village, which was abandoned in 1987, was put up for grabs at $1.4 million (£880,000) earlier this year because owner Wade Shepherd was tired of tourists visiting the movie set "day and night".
Joe Maddalena, the owner of Hollywood auction house Profiles in History, has since acquired the Henry River Mill Village property, which will be auctioned off via sealed bids with a bidding deadline of 31 July.
The property is valued in excess of $1.2 million (£750,000).
Maddalena tells WENN, "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
The auction boss' acquisition of the District 12 site will feature on an upcoming episode of reality TV show Hollywood Treasure.
He adds, "The property exists exactly as it is seen in the film, from the bakery owned by Peeta Mellark’s family to the house where Katniss Everdeen and her sister Prim lived. It is all there. Production came into the town and shot directly on site and didn’t need to change a thing."...

Warehouse 13, Syfy's highest rated original series, is concluding its third season tonight and according to Eddie McClintock, "They've really raised the stakes for the last two episodes." W13's affable male lead answered questions last week about tonight's two-hour finale and TV Over Mind joined the fun. Already renewed for a fourth season and with its first spinoff in the works, Eddie assures fans that this year's finale will be very different than last season's controversial ender. "Last year's cliffhanger to me wasn't really a cliffhanger. To me a cliffhanger is like, the damsel is tied to the railroad tracks, the train's coming, the guy's racing to get there, 'What's going to happen next,' not, 'Oh no, one of the characters left.' It kind of ticked a lot of people off. I remember getting a lot of twitters about, 'I'm not going to watch the show if...

Syfy has announced another acquisition to their reality roster, as they've picked up Dream Machines, set to premiere late spring/summer 2012. Dream Machines, which was given a six episode order, follows two brothers (Marc and Shannon Parker) who recreate famous vehicles in movies and television (i.e. the Bat Pod, the motorcycle from Tron) for an assorted mix of clients. Think of Dream Machines as the West Coast Choppers for the science fiction savvy, if you will.
Returning to the air at the same time that Dream Machines will be Hollywood Treasure and Haunted Collector, both of which aired their first season this past summer. Fans of SyFy’s canceled Battlestar Galactica prequel series, Caprica, will be happy to know that the final five episodes of the series’ season 1.5 will be televised back-to-back in January 2011. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 4th at 6pm Et, folks.
Executive producer David Eick was surprised that the show fell to the cancelation ax and that the network would pull the remaining episodes from their scheduled air times this month:
