Steven Murray narrates this travelogue of the the Cotswolds, produced by British Transport Films.
It shows a rural district of England, where the buildings are ancient and beautiful, built on the profits of sheep herding six centuries ago, a district which is still largely farm land, and the year's highlight is the summer fair, when people take time off from their tending to do a little boasting about the excellence of their cattle and horses, and the flowers that their women raise, Murray speaks lines that are full of old words and old ways, that seem a little dismayed and amazed that anyone would wish to be elsewhere.
Given the beautiful images, I have to agree.
