Daniel Roebuck has racked up over 250 credits over the course of a career that has lasted nearly 40 years so far, and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have just broken the news that one of his next credits will be on writer/director Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, which is set to receive a theatrical release on October 25th. According to the site, Roebuck will be appearing in the film as Santa Claus. It seems fitting, because Roebuck was already in Santa mode for a family-friendly movie called Saint Nick of Bethlehem, which he co-wrote and co-directed. That movie will be released later this year as well.
Roebuck provided the following statement: “I’ve been holding this secret for a long time! I’ve been really excited about it. I’m actually entering into the movies that I watch. It’s extraordinary. This is Terrifier bigger, badder, best.“

AI has taken over the job market and most people have become either influencers or online sex workers in Pandemic Sex Party, a new horror film from producer Andy Gould. Described as a throwback to the grindhouse exploitation cinema of the past, the official trailer has been unleashed this week.
Bloody Disgusting has learned that production has quietly begun on Pandemic Sex Party, about a masked maniac brutally crashing the titular bash. Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have collaborated multiple times in the past, and now they’re working together on a cool new project: a collection of classic horror movie soundtracks that will be released under the banner of “Rob Zombie Presents”! This line of never-before-released soundtracks, personally selected by Zombie, will include Spider Baby, Carnival of Souls, The Last Man on Earth, The House on Haunted Hill, Island of Lost Souls, plus many selections from the Hammer film library… and it all starts with the release of the soundtrack for the 1932 classic White Zombie. Of course it would start with White Zombie.
This 180 gram vinyl release comes in deluxe packaging, with new artwork by Graham Humphreys and liner notes and interviews by Rob Zombie. You can take a look at the White Zombie package at the bottom of this article.

Love him or hate him, Rob Zombie has become one of the prominent and unique voices in the modern horror landscape. His style is immediately recognizable, his choices in aesthetics, casting, and music practically codified. I say this not to criticize Zombie; he’s one of my favorite current filmmakers, and I like or love nearly every single one of his movies.
With two of his films celebrating an anniversary this year – Lords of Salem turns 10, House of 1000 Corpses turns 20 – it seemed like the right time to revisit his filmmaking career so far.
Today we’re ranking Rob Zombie’s entire live action filmography to date…
8. 31 (2016)
If I’m being totally honest, this is the one movie on the list I’m not entirely crazy about because, after the relative box office disappointment of Zombie’s experimentation with The Lords of Salem, it feels like he retreated artistically back...

Walpurgisnacht, also known as Walpurgis Night or Hexennacht, is a pagan holiday celebrated on the night of April 30th. It is named after Saint Walpurga, an eighth-century nun who Christianized parts of Germany. However, the holiday has roots in pagan traditions that celebrate the coming of spring and the triumph of life over death. It is also associated with witchcraft and supernatural phenomena, making it a perfect occasion to indulge in some spine-chilling horror films.
So, grab some popcorn and get ready for a night of scares with these ten chilling recommendations for Walpurgisnacht.
1. Dracula (1931)
What better way to kick off Walpurgisnacht than with the most iconic vampire movie of all time? Dracula (1931) stars Bela Lugosi as the titular count who travels from Transylvania to England to spread his curse of the undead. The beginning of the film is actually set on Walpurgisnacht, as Renfield (Dwight Frye) arrives at Dracula...

Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have joined forces to release an exclusive, curated line of classic horror movie soundtracks.
The series, called Rob Zombie Presents, will offer several never-before-released film soundtracks that Zombie personally selected.
“I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks, so I jumped at the opportunity to work with Waxwork on this project,” Zombie said in a statement. “I can’t wait to release these albums. So many of these films are greatly under-appreciated and they all contain such great music. So to be able to release these deluxe packages is a dream come true.”
The first soundtrack to be released is fittingly the one for White Zombie. The 1932 film starring Bela Lugosi is considered the first-ever zombie movie, and inspired the name for Rob Zombie’s former band, White Zombie. According to a release, the film was “slammed by critics upon its release” but...

Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses celebrates its 20th anniversary this week with a brand new Blu-ray release, marking Zombie’s 20th anniversary as a filmmaker. A well-established musician by the time his debut feature was released, Zombie followed House of 1000 Corpses with films including sequels The Devil’s Rejects and 3 from Hell, remakes Halloween, Halloween II, and The Munsters, plus originals including The Lords of Salem and 31.
What’s next from Rob Zombie, you ask? Will we ever see the return of the Firefly Family in a third sequel to House of 1000 Corpses? How about a sequel to last year’s The Munsters?
Entertainment Weekly asked Zombie both of these questions in a new chat that was just published on their website this week, and he suggests neither project is in the cards.

Twenty years ago, musician-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie combined two types of horror films that he loved — Universal monster movies and the down-and-dirty ’70s provocations of Tobe Hooper and Wes Craven — to create “House of 1000 Corpses,” a film disowned by its original studio that went on to become a cult classic. The tale of two young couples who stumble across a demented backwoods family that engages in torture, cannibalism, and satanic rituals, it’s darkly hilarious and genuinely horrifying, packed with the kind of outrageous nightmare-inducing imagery that would characterize later Zombie works like “The Devil’s Rejects,” “The Lords of Salem,” and “3 From Hell.”
For fans of the film, the jarring juxtaposition of tones is a strength, but according to Zombie, it was less a grand plan than a byproduct of his inexperience as a director. “For a lot of years I was dissatisfied with it because you go in...

The series adaptation of Adrian Lyne’s Fatal Attraction is on the way from Paramount+, and the official trailer has arrived ahead of the series premiere on April 30, 2023.
Lizzy Caplan (“Castle Rock”) is starring as female lead Alex Forrest in the upcoming Paramount+ reboot series, with Joshua Jackson (“Dr. Death”) playing Dan Gallagher.

She’s clearly mentally ill and that’s not something that is really touched upon at all in the movie.”

Rob Zombie's first feature film, 2003's "House of 1000 Corpses," is a filthy little nightmare of a movie. Shot for only $7 million, Zombie's film took a lot of tonal and visual cues from Tobe Hooper's "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre," but filtered through the director's ultraviolent heavy metal sensibility. The film was bleak, violent, grimy, and uncomfortable. It also didn't make a lot of sense. What, for instance, was the true nature of the subterranean cyborg named Dr. Satan? It wouldn't be until the 2005 sequel, "The Devil's Rejects," that the true nihilism of the film's villains would be explored. Zombie didn't seem to care much about the victims of the wicked Firefly family -- mostly traveling students and tourists who stumble into the Firefly's unsavory roadside attractions -- choosing instead to focus on a family who have found solidarity in their mutual evil and innate need to kill and destroy.

Cinema fans have been familiar with Michael Berryman for decades. He made his first screen appearance in the 1975 film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, following that up with a role in the Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Next up was his most iconic role, that of the desert-dwelling cannibal Pluto in Wes Craven’s 1977 film The Hills Have Eyes, a role he reprised in the messy 1984 sequel The Hills Have Eyes Part II. He has gone on to rack up over one hundred more credits, including roles in films like Deadly Blessing, Invitation to Hell, Cut and Run, Weird Science, My Science Project, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, The Guyver, Beastmaster 2, Wizards of the Demon Sword, Teenage Exorcist, The Devil’s Rejects, Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield, The Haunted Casino, The Lords of Salem, and Death House.

(Welcome to Scariest Scene Ever, a column dedicated to the most pulse-pounding moments in horror with your tour guides, horror experts Chris Evangelista and Matt Donato. In this edition, Chris checks into the hospital from hell with Rob Zombie's "Halloween II.")
Rob Zombie's "Halloween" is not very good. Of course, anyone daring to remake John Carpenter is facing a Herculean task, but Zombie proved surprisingly ill-equipped for the job. To be fair, the filmmaker has a great eye for visuals. It's his screenwriting that needs serious work, and his "Halloween" is loaded with some weak storytelling and terrible dialogue.
So I wasn't exactly jumping for joy when Zombie returned for "Halloween II." But surprise, surprise, the film turned out to be a vast improvement over the original. Sure, the lousy dialogue is still there. But, freed from having to imitate Carpenter's story beats, Zombie gets to go wild, unleashing a strange,...

A series adaptation of Adrian Lyne’s Fatal Attraction is on the way from Paramount+, and Deadline reports today that Dee Wallace has joined the cast!
Deadline reports, “Wallace will portray Emma Rauch, who is described as open, friendly, chic, and interested but also sensitive to boundaries. She is a retired career woman, enthusiastic and helpful volunteer, mother of adult children, and a student of life— someone anyone but Alex (Lizzy Caplan) would be thrilled to have as their neighbor.”
David Meunier (Justified) also joins Alyssa Jirrels (Boo Bitch), Toby Huss (“Halt and Catch Fire”), Reno Wilson (“Good Girls”) and Brian Goodman (Chance).
Lizzy Caplan (“Castle Rock”) is set to star as female lead Alex, with Joshua Jackson (“Dr. Death”) playing Dan Gallagher. Amanda Peet (“The Chair”) will also star in the series.

Fantastic Fest 2022 has a great selection of film docs, and one of the most interesting ones is the latest from Alexandre O. Philippe. His resume includes some fascinating examinations of classic films, including 78/52: Hitchcock’s Shower Scene and Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on the Exorcist. His films always focus on an interesting corner of film and when I heard that he had a new one examining the work of David Lynch, I knew I couldn’t miss it.
This film takes on a bit of a different format from his previous works. It is divided into six chapters and essentially takes on the format of a series of video essays diving into various aspects of Lynch's oeuvre. The common theme is how those works relate or overlap to the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz.

If you couldn't tell from the hit single "Dragula" from his 1998 debut album "Hellbilly Deluxe," Rob Zombie has been a fan of "The Munsters" for a very long time. So when the opportunity arose for the cult horror filmmaker and musician to revive the beloved 1960s sitcom, it's no surprise that he jumped at the chance. However, a number of false starts kept the project in limbo on several occasions, so the anticipation kept building and building for Zombie's vision.
With the film finally being released today, is it possible for the long-awaited PG-rated adaptation from the director who brought us "House of 1000 Corpses" and "Lords of Salem" to live up to the hype? We'll find out soon enough, but that question ultimately didn't weigh heavy on the shoulders Jeff Daniels Phillips, who is literally and figuratively stepping into the very large shoes of the Transylvanian-American patriarch Herman Munster.

Rock musician and horror director Rob Zombie has been trying to get a movie adaptation of "The Munsters" made for 20 years. Known for his edgy, intense, and graphic films, many were shocked to learn that the film would be a departure from his usual fare, and instead serve as a faithful homage to the 1960s TV series. The result is a family-friendly horror comedy blasted with color, cartoon sound-effects, and a palpable passion dripping from every punchline. Serving as a prequel to the events of the TV series, Rob Zombie's take on "The Munsters" also sees many of his frequent collaborators stepping into the celebrated roles that came before.
Jeff Daniel Phillips is one of Zombie's go-to guys, having appeared in his films "Halloween II," "The Lords of Salem," "31," and "3 From Hell." Due to tall height, Phillips has been cast plenty of times to play villains and monsters, like appearing...

Back in the 1960s, if you wanted to watch a weekly sitcom about monsters living in suburbia, there were only two games in town: “The Addams Family,” about a group of kooks whose wealth and largely normal looks gave them the freedom to pursue their freaky interests, and “The Munsters,” about a working-class group of unmistakable monsters whose outward appearance provided a humorous contrast to their utter normalcy.
The Addams Family have gone on to great cinematic success in the decades following their sitcom (and the New Yorker cartoons on which it was based), with successful live-action and animated movies to their name. But Hollywood hasn’t been quite so kind to The Munsters. Their show was originally a bigger hit than “The Addams Family,” but they’ve never been cinematically rebooted for the big screen. (Not counting the series spinoff “Munster Go Home!” in 1966.)

With the new film adaptation of "The Munsters" right around the corner, there's been a lot of talk about director Rob Zombie these days. The heavy metal musician-turned-filmmaker now has nine feature films under his belt, as well as his segment for the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez "Grindhouse" double feature, and the concert film "The Zombie Horror Picture Show." The value and influence of Zombie's filmography has been hotly debated for nearly two decades, namely due to his remake (and sequel to the remake) of John Carpenter's "Halloween." Horror fans often refer to his two films as "Zombieween" as a way to differentiate the films from the already broken-as-hell canon of Michael Myers, but it was working on the pair of films that led Zombie to deliver arguably his finest feature, "The Lords of Salem."

Whether through film or the written word, the importance of visuals cannot be dismissed. Both mediums require us to paint images for the audience to consume and explore. The more memorable the visual image conjured up, the deeper it will embed itself in a person's mind, even years later.
That said, when it comes to film, story is often sacrificed for the sake of strong visuals. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, since film is a visual medium. Images have captivated since the early exploration of filmmaking, leading to the experimentation of still photography, the development of the chronophotographic gun in the Victorian era, and laying down the foundation for the silent film era. While decades have gone by and film has evolved in the realms of audio, performance, and storytelling, the visuals are still the biggest selling point for audiences.

Anyone who's a fan of Rob Zombie's music career knows the rocker has a playful approach to his material that can dive straight into the humorous and farcical. After all, anyone who entitles a song "Well, Everybody's F***ing in a U.F.O." (a song that features a lead vocal from Zombie performed in a faux-Southern drawl) isn't taking themselves too seriously.
Yet what fans of Rob Zombie also know is that the artist is as multi-faceted as he is talented. His movies, despite existing exclusively within the horror genre, feature a variety of stylistic approaches and tones. His horror films are among the most brutal ever made, with "The Devil's Rejects," "Halloween II" and "The Lords of Salem" being exceedingly grim films that never allow the audience even a tiny breather with humor or lazy facetiousness.

Rob Zombie's 2012 film "The Lords of Salem" may be the filmmaker's best. In it, Sheri Moon plays Heidi, a woman living in Salem, Ma, and recovering from drug addiction. She works as a soft-spoken DJ at the local radio station with Ken Foree and Jeff Daniel Phillips. When they play a mysterious rock record on their show — a record that only plays three scary, deep notes over and over — it awakens something inside Heidi. She begins having surreal visions of Satan. The visions are also, perhaps, being encouraged by a trio of women who regularly drink wine and converse loudly in her apartment building.
Eventually, it will be revealed that the record was a tool by the town's local Satanists (!) used to hypnotize the town's women into remembering their former lives as the woman tortured and killed in Salem generations ago. Satan, then, becomes a tool for feminist vengeance.

In the endless string of intellectual property being mined for all its worth, cult horror filmmaker and musician Rob Zombie has decided to put away his usual griminess in order to revive the 1960s television sitcom "The Munsters." Though the film does play with the iconography of the horror genre, "The Munsters" is a straight-up comedy, marking quite the tonal change for the guy who made "House of 1,000 Corpses" and "Lords of Salem." The film still brings in plenty of his usual collaborators, such as actors Sheri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Daniel Roebuck, and Richard Brake, but they will get to flex parts of their lighter...

Kevin Lewis will follow up “Willy’s Wonderland” by directing “The Accursed,” a new horror movie about demonic possession that its creators predict will be like if “Sam Raimi and Dario Argento had a love child and James Wan was its uncle.”
Mena Suvari (“American Beauty”), Sarah Grey (Netflix’s “The Order” and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow”), and Alexis Knapp (“Pitch Perfect” franchise) head up the cast, which also includes Meg Foster (“The Lords of Salem”) and Sarah Dumont (“Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”). “Willy’s Wonderland,” an action-comedy horror film, became a pandemic era favorite when it was released on VOD and in limited theatrical release last February.
Rob Kennedy (“Midnight Man”) penned the screenplay for “The Accursed.” According to the official description, it centers on a young woman who faces a horrifying past. When her estranged mother dies by suicide, Elly (Grey) is forced to return home from volunteering as a nurse abroad.

Hello! It’s been a little while since we’ve had a new Catalog From The Beyond, hasn’t it? After winning our hearts as the stoic Peter in George A. Los Angeles-based Dark Star Pictures has acquired the North American distribution rights to the festival midnighter Dementia Part II as part of their exciting collaboration with horror leader Bloody Disgusting, the companies announced Monday morning.
