During post production, the producers felt the living room scene did not portray a professor's home in Cambridge, MA. The scene was later re-filmed, but due to scheduling conflicts of actors the scene's cast is different. Both living room locations were from homes in New Hampshire.
Bighorn had its world premiere on October 7, 2010, in General Custer's hometown of Monroe, Michigan, during their 12th Annual Custer Week at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts. This theater is where the premiere of the classic Custer film, They Died with Their Boots On (1941), starring 'Erroll Flynn (I)', took place in 1941.
