This is a wonderful short film well deserving of the many awards it has won. The story of a mom who loves playing games with her young son, THE DEATH OF TOYS addresses larger issues such as children growing up, loneliness, and ultimately the fear of aging and death. It's enormously witty and entertaining, and as the title implies manages to maintain a real sense of playful fun even as it explores thought provoking themes. The movie is particularly insightful with regards to the relationship between the mother and the son, and I'm sorry the film isn't longer as it would be interesting to see a feature film with this theme and these characters.

Writer/director Lisa Gold elicited tremendous performances from her very talented cast and created a compelling and intelligent film you'll be thinking about long after you see it. Go enjoy THE DEATH OF TOYS!
