When in you live in a giant Rubik's cube
mario_c2 March 2011
RUBIKA is a very curious short animation film with just 4 minutes long. The animation, especially at the beginning, made me remind the toy building bricks from LEGO I used to play when I was young, or even the computer graphics of the old ZX SPECTRUM! But the fun of this short film just starts when we realize the main character passed from one scenario to another different one and lost the gravity force… yeah, that's right! If in the first set he walked "normally" in the second one everything was inverted to him: what was supposed to be horizontal turns vertical and the opposite as well! And all that just happens because he lives in giant Rubik's cube that when it turns around all its inhabitants change to another platform and lose their gravity! Very interesting concept I must say! I score this very short but also very funny movie 7/10.

Gravity is no longer that predictable

Indeed, a very nice shortie =] Finally the theory of relativity hits gravity! A mini-story of a man who lives in a world that resembles very closely the environment of this game: http://www.minecraft.net

The actions in this animation are mind boggling in some scenes which is very amusing. I learned a couple of things with this, for example, don't step too close to the borders of the world or you will fall to the other side. And there is no telling what the gravity in that other side might be like! =]

Rubika opened for "I saw the devil" in FantasPorto and it was a great way to relax just before another great movie =]

Cube fun

A brief, but visually impressive animation, with a very stylish aesthetic, that reminded me the video game "Minecraft".

The result was something fascinating, which it is also very enjoyable to watch. In less than four minutes, "Rubika" is able to present a whole new world with different rules (Mostly gravitational rules) to ours, working very well as a light-hearted entertainment fantasy that doesn't disappoint.

The strongest aspect of this short was the very good quality of the animation and the designs, which were pretty nice to look at. Definitely worth-watching.
