Did not expect much, but was pleasantly surprised

If you can look past the pre-World Cup campaign and Urgand/Khabensky duo that is clearly miscast and is fed by Russian movie industry as the Russian international stars, the movie is actually very nice. Kids most certainly stole the show. Their athletic ability, as well as acting, was absolutely superb. The "star" cast was sub-par, Jovovich overplays her part, Urgand is out of place. He is an extremely talented show host and comic improviser, but he is not an actor. Well, maybe not yet. Khabensky seems to be playing the same guy in every movie (aside from Admiral). His character always seems to be drunk. All in all, worth watching with the family. A solid 6 stars.

A decent Russian comedy
resident23427 February 2011
The movie starts out in Moscow - a man is hit by a car in which a young couple is going to a registry office to get married. But it turns out that the victim and the girl fall in love with each other and the girl dumps her fiancé. The man starts dating the girl and in a week he makes an offer to her to marry him which she happily takes. However, the man is from another city so he has to work off at his job for 2 weeks and then get back to Moscow to marry her. At his last day in the town, he is barely in time on his train to Moscow when he is taken as a soccer coach by mistake and compelled to stay in his home town until he doesn't do his job as the coach. He has to assemble a soccer team and take part in city soccer tournament to be able to get out of town. And then an adventure begins! I'm not a big fan of Russian movies but this particular movie was a fun and I didn't expect I would be absorbed by the storyline so much. The idea is not original, but it is well-staged and played.

Wedding, street kids and soccer.

The tribulations of Slava Kolotiloff: Slava is hit by a car driven by Nadia. Immediately he convinces Nadia to give up her marriage with Danya. Then Slava has returned to Palchiki and is quite ready to take the train back to Moscow. Then begins the real comedy : Slava is attraped in Palchiki, he has become coach of a soccer team and is telling lies to Nadia !! Slava meets a street boy and from them these orphan boys will steal the show by their acrobatic skills !!

A pleasant comedy with a good cast: Konstantin Khabenskiy, Milla Jovovich, Ivan Urgant ,Olga Tumaykina and Sergey Garmarsh.

Pleasant surprise

The comedy itself varies between mildly amusing to very funny (like when Jovoch's character loses it completely). But what makes the film special to me is the sub polt about the street kids. The portayal is realistic and they are treated with dignity. It's a pretty realistic picture of Putin's Russia.

A bright film about overcoming yourself!
SoverniX5 February 2021
A bright, kind, inspiring picture about a person faced with a difficult choice and about 12-year-old children-street children, for whom the decisive choice was made.

Khabensky, who distinguished himself in a completely new role for himself, played the role wonderfully! I also remember the song ("To say goodbye") in his performance under a rather sentimental video sequence.

What can we say about the main characters of the film-young street children... It was they who made the film so extraordinary and fascinating. Good humor, beautiful video effects, easily constructed plot and emotional background-all this makes the film close to the heart and memorable, that you want to watch it again and again in the company of your friends, because there is a place in the film for everything - and uncontrollable laughter, and empathy throughout, and tears...

Mila Jovovich is the real cherry of the picture. Personally, I liked the scene, in which two actions of the same time were very organically combined-at the wedding table and on the football field in Fingers. And all this under the wonderful song performed by the famous actress!
