Producer Frank Spotnitz ("The Man In The High Castle") continues developing the "Warhammer 40,000" novels by Dan Abnett, into a live-action TV series with Big Light Productions and Games Workshop:

We have added the first teaser trailer a for Warhammer 40,000 movie Ultramarines.
Ultramarines is a tense sci-fi action thriller set in the 41st milleneum, when the galaxy is burning and there is nothing but war. Mankind’s sole defence against the lurking alien races are the Space Marines, genetically enhanced super-warriors, for whom loyallty to their emperor is all. The most fearless chapter of this mighty army is the Ultramarines.
Based on the internationally successful futuristic tableI-top war strategy game, Warhammer 40, 000, Ultramarines uses state-of-the-art facial capture technology and stunning CGI animation to bring powerfully to life the Space Marines characters and their adversaries.
Scripted by franchise veteran Dan Abnett, who was interviewed recently by SciFiNow, the film also stars the vocal talents of Terence Stamp (Superman, Valkyrie), John Hurt ( Alien, Hellboy) and Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon, Dog Soldiers). This is the first-ever feature length movie interpretation of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Here's a pretty cool trailer for the upcoming animated film Ultramariens: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie. It doesn't really give us a lot to go off of, bt it looks like it could be fun CGI animated film. As for the production quality, keep in mind that a big studio is not putting this together with a big budget. This is a small, low-budget production that will go strait to DVD, and for that it looks pretty freakin good. The film stars the voices of Terence Stamp, Sean Pertwee and John Hurt.

"In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war..." Some of you may know that we've been writing about an upcoming animated movie based on Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines called Ultramarines. After a couple of months of waiting, we now have a short first look at a very bloody teaser trailer (with actual footage) for the movie as found by Quiet Earth. Sadly, this is going to be going straight-to-dvd (not in theaters, as far as we know) but the good news is it features the voices of Terence Stamp and John Hurt (as heard in the trailer). This has the potential to be pretty awesome and I hope it delivers! Watch the first teaser trailer for Warhammer 40,000's Ultramarines: Codex Pictures is developing Ultramarines, with Martyn Pick directing from a screenplay by Space Marines author Dan Abnett. There hasn't been an actual plot synopsis...

I was willing to chalk a bland teaser up to post production woes, but this first "trailer" for 40K's Ultramarines animated 3D epic is anything but. What a pity too as it stars such great actors as Terence Stamp, Sean Pertwee and John Hurt.
I don't know, maybe I'm being to hard on this. What does everyone else think?
