Big revelations in the community this evening.
We start with a hunter in the woods tracking a wolf. He gets the drop on it and shoots it, but before he can finish it off another wolf attacks him. We see that the wolf who was shot was Lucas and Brett was the one who killed the hunter, one Stan Patterson.
The pack goes to the lacrosse coach who is also a wolf. He takes the bullet out of Lucas and tells the others to go home. He asks if anything else happened and the kids lie and say no.
Turns out this was a bad idea as the hunter's wife reports him missing. And even though the woods of Franklin Park are outside the Gates they are still sort of Nick's jurisdiction so they go to check it out. Brett gets word of this and runs to clean up the body and evidence. But not before Nick finds a lacrosse shirt and has the coach into the police department to ask if maybe some of his kids are messing around in the woods. He says they don't do that but he'll look into it.
He goes one better and disposes of the body in a different location and it's deemed an "animal attack." He goes to Brett and tells him how stupid he was and that he's now officially off the team. He says since he is the "beta wolf" he should report Brett to "the council" but he'll settle for kicking him off the team. He tells him to stop breaking the rules. Everyone also knows that Brett's father and brother were killed by hunters so he should know better. Heartbroken over Andie, Brett doesn't care and says he's going to run anyway.
Andie meanwhile is getting cozy with Charlie and things seem to be going well. That is until after a make-out session in the janitor's closet at school Charlie passes out. The doctor tells him it's mono but knows that it's Andie's budding succubus powers coming out. She tells Andie's dad that it's imperative that he explain what's happening to her before someone gets seriously hurt.
Andie's dad is more focused on keeping her his "little girl" for just a little bit longer. To that end he prods her into going to the "daddy-daughter" dance with him. After a sweet dance in which he tells her how proud her mother would be of her, he sits her down at home to break the succubus news.
In other "daddy-daughter" news Dana and Emily were also both excited to attend, although Nick and Dylan were much less so. They figured their wives were setting them up to try and mend fences. Dylan saved the day for Nick by picking up Dana's corsage at the florist at the last minute and at the dance Nick apologized to Dylan for being so intense about his job. Dylan said he understood and that actually having a tenacious cop like Nick in the Gates made him feel safer. (Ironic, no?) He also talked lovingly about adopting Emily and the day he realized that he would do anything or sacrifice anything to protect her.
Dylan maybe shouldn't have felt so safe because it turns out that someone is after Nick and had amazingly easy access to him. Remember Marcus' sweet redheaded galpal Theresa? Turns out that she's the sister of the guy that Nick shot in Chicago and she's psycho. After offering to take photos at the dance as a way of saying thanks to the welcoming Gates community, she led Nick outside, whipped out her gun, forced him into the woods and monologued about him being a murderer and how satisfied she was going to be to kill him and then go kill his whole family. But thanks to all her yakking before she had the chance Dylan descended on her and got all vampy. Nick, understandably freaked out, grabbed the gun and trained it on Dylan demanding to know "what" he is. Dylan said that Nick knows exactly what he is and that Dana and Emily would soon be emerging from the dance and that Nick needed to calm down and go get them while he took care of Theresa's body. He promised to explain everything to Nick later.
Nick did some explaining of his own to Sarah. He had been grumpy and brooding since waking up since it was the year anniversary of him killing Theresa's brother. She tried to reassure him that he did the right thing but eventually he told her that, in fact, he didn't. The guy was unarmed and Nick knew it. He killed him because he knew the DA couldn't make the case and that the guy- who had raped and murdered women- was going to walk and all he could think about what if it was Dana or Sarah. And he shot him and lied to everyone from internal affairs to Sarah about it. She is crestfallen but tells him to concentrate on his daughter's happiness at the dance. Later when he calls her she tells him he is a good man and they'll work through this.
Someone who might not be so willing to work through things will be Dylan when he finds out that Clair has been hooking up with old buddy Christian outside the Gates for random feedings. While Dylan is at the dance, Clair meets Christian at a bar. Just as he's got their kill for the night sized up, Clair realizes it's notorious Gates gossip Barbara. Barbara practically vibrates with glee when she realizes that Clair met up outside the Gates with Christian while Dylan was otherwise occupied. Christian offers to kill her after she leaves but Clair says she can't, it wouldn't be some random anonymous kill but someone she knows. Christian says he can't believe the double life that Dylan is forcing Clair to lead. She tells him that she's in fact happy and that she can't do this anymore.
