Details from Ouija: Darren Lynch has directed and written Ouija, a film that sounds like an homage to The Evil Dead: “Ouija tells the story of 9 friends who get together for a night out of partying in the woods. Little do they know one of them has other ideas bringing the Ouija board, convincing everyone to play. They open a portal unleashing a series of demons who stalk the group killing them one by one.”
The film is currently in post-production and the first trailer is expected this spring. For the first images from the film and more information, visit: http://www.ouija-movie.co.uk/

Of all the people I've interviewed for Planet Fury's Halloween Memories series, Shannon Lark is a bit of an anomaly.
It's not that the actress/filmmaker doesn't care for Halloween. She does, very much. But as an artist, she's more interested in concept and atmosphere, or what goes on behind the scenes. And this carries over to all things, even All Hallow's Eve.
"I love Halloween," Shannon told me earlier this week, "but it's more about the month leading up to the event. On the actual day of Halloween, I would rather be working or staying at home with my family. I'm past the dress-up/participatory phase, and that's most likely a result of working in horror film and stage for so long."
She got comfortable and explained further, "I joke with my family that Halloween is bigger than Jesus. It's important to embrace the longer nights. It's comforting. The...

It’s lucky 13 for the Boston Underground Film Festival as they celebrate their raucous 13th annual edition this year. Opening with the much buzzed about bloody feature film Hobo With a Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer and directed by Jason Eisener, the fest then barrels on for eight wild nights and days from March 24-31.
While there’s plenty of underground goodness from the U.S.A., this year Buff feels like it’s a much more international affair with several sick features from around the globe. There’s gory horror and quirky black comedy from Japan in the guise of Yoshihiro Nishimura’s Helldriver and Sion Sono’s Cold Fish; the Argentinian freak-out Phase7 by Nicolas Goldbart; David Blyth’s Wound is a psychological thriller from New Zealand; and Mark Hartley’s Machete Maidens Unleashed! is a look at Philippine exploitation cinema from the ’70s.

Are you ready for another blood bath?
I hope so, because on November 13 and 14, at the Texas Theatre in Dallas, Texas, Doa Blood Bath Entertainment is presenting Blood Bath 2: The Film Festival - and this time, it's personal. I'm joking, of course. But seriously, this year's fest is the real deal. If you are a fan of independent horror, you'll want to be there if at all possible.
This is going to be a big event. The fest is staging the world premiere of two feature films: Kodie, the much-anticipated killer teddy bear flick, and The Super, a movie that will surely scare anyone that enjoys apartment living. There will also be the American premiere of Fell, from director Marcus Koch. Other features showing this weekend include the award winning flicks Walking Distance from Houston's Mel House, Exhibit A-7 from Adam Minarovich, and Dead Hooker in a Trunk, the...

Shannon Lark and Stacie Ponder's short Lip Stick opens up on the vacant slummy streets of a no-name sleepy town in the deep hours of the night immediately focusing in on a seedy motel, dimly-lit by street lamps and flashing railway lights. The sombre silence is immediately pierced by the pleasure-induced gasps & moans of the yet-to-be-unveiled mysterious woman getting screwed to the high heavens. Flash forward a few seconds later - the seductive and quite obviously sex-crazed—mystery mistress appears in the nude (after what appears to be a damn good shagging), having a conversation with someone—who...isn't...there?...
Stereotypical blonde bimbos fear not! For the character's motive behind this perplexing little episode is somewhat indirectly revealed through the ‘maniacal-Mom’ inspired monologue that swiftly follows.
This woman has quite obviously been emotionally and psychologically disrupted by her Mother's firm implantation of the belief that she is worthless,...
