Kate Ritchie is to make a brief return to Seven’s Home And Away after a five year break, the network has announced.
Ritchie, who played Sally Fletcher from the age of eight, said in the announcement: “There will be a wonderful sense of familiarity stepping back into Sally’s shoes for a while. Summer Bay is a very different place these days and I am looking forward to working with all the fresh faces.”
The show is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Ritchie will start filming her role shortly, with the story rolling out over a number of months.
Series Producer Lucy Addario said: “We trust fans will be as excited as we are to watch her story unfold and follow Sally’s journey again.”
After leaving Home Amd Away, Ritchie tried her hand at radio presenting with a brief stint on Nova Sydney, as part of the Merrick and Rosso breakfast show.

Sydney actor Daniel Lissing may have cracked the tough Hollywood market. The young actor, recently seen on ABC's Crownies, has been the first actor cast to appear in pilot Last Resort.. If the pilot - commissioned by ABC - goes ahead, Lissing will be a 'series regular'.
Lissing, who is represented locally by Rise Media Group (formerly Woodburn Sweitzer Management), sent a self-taped audition to casting directors Rebecca Mangieri (Cold Case, Burn Notice) and Wendy Weidman (CSI: NY) and it appears to have worked for The Shield creator, Shawn Ryan, who will co-write and co-executive produce the series. Casino Royale director Martin Campbell is attached to direct the show.

Kate Ritchie has revealed that she will be making her first theatre appearance in years. The former Home and Away actress, who has also starred in Cops Lac and hosted a breakfast radio show, said that she looks forward to starring in a play inspired by the Bali Nine called Bondi Dreaming. According to The Daily Telegraph, Ritchie plays the girlfriend of one of three young men arrested in Bali for drug trafficking, but will not appear live on stage. The 33-year-old Australian actress, who is best known for her roles in Home and Away and Cops Lac, said that she and husband Stuart Webb are considering starting a family of their own very soon.
