This is an extremely realistic portrayal of school boy bullying in England, right down to the tapping on Supertramp's face by one of the thugs. In watching this, you will know what it feels like to be threatened in this kind of situation. This is vicarious tension par excellence, achieved through outstanding acting as well as action. I attended school in England and also studied karate there in order to ward off this sort of thing. This scene was pure déjà vu, although my success in defending myself was relatively modest!
The fight sequences themselves are technically realistic and not at all "cleanly choreographed", thus making them all the more credible. They nicely complement the underlying drama.
I saw the entire film at the Action On Film Festival in Pasadena, California in July of 2010, and it is excellent.
