Radiating pure euphoric rave energy, guised duo The Stickmen Project release atmospheric number ‘I Wish I Was’ into the electronic ether. Prepare for an other-worldly experience on the dancefloor as The Stickmen Project delve into an ultra-modern soundscape that is custom-made for futuristic ravers.
An ethereal female vocal enters into the electromagnetic field of immense production, softly guiding the solemn lyrics and addictive melody of ‘I Wish I Was.’ Whimsical synth tones build slowly underneath, causing spine-tingling tension in each build, capable of being released only by a deep permeating bass line. ‘I Wish I Was’ is carefully crafted with its live presence in mind. Whilst there are louder, more boisterous rave tracks on the circuit, that’s not the purpose of ‘I Wish I Was.’ This the late-night drop catches you off-guard mid set, uncontrollably surrendering you to the present moment and leaving you completely transfixed.

Michael Jackson helped define the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. For that reason, he will forever be known as one of the greatest geniuses in the history of pop and R&b music. However, the King of Pop watched another singer from the same time period in awe. He was lucky enough to watch this singer record one of the most acclaimed albums of all time.
A 1970s star told Michael Jackson to paint pictures using sound
Jermaine Jackson was a member of The Jackson 5. In his 2011 book You Are Not Alone: Michael, Through a Brother’s Eyes, Jermaine discussed his feelings toward Stevie Wonder. “Stevie was, and remains, a big friend of the family after working with us on many unreleased Jackson 5 tracks (and we did the background dooda-waps on his hit ‘You Haven’t Done Nothing’),” he explained. “We all shared the same precision: building up a song,...

Considering the ignorant comments we read throughout the web (to say the least) after the release of “Monster”, we decided to take a vote regarding the ranking of the movies of the Japanese, in order to come up with an informed ‘top 16'. The only condition was for the people who vote to have watched at least 10 films by the director, which resulted in the following Amp members voting: Panos Kotzathanasis, Rouven Linnarz, Andrew Thayne, Tobiasz Dunin, Sean Barry, Adriana Rosati and Lukasz Mankowski. The result, which includes his 16 fiction features but not his documentaries, is as follows.
16. Distance (2001)
Koreeda directs a film filled with subtle melancholy, as he tries to present the reasons people join cults and commit horrendous attacks. Through flashbacks and dialogue, he depicts the alienation and emotional isolation the perpetrators had from their families as they succumbed to the cult's dogma. There’ll be some happy holidays on Prime Video in December, as the streamer’s seasonal offerings hope to keep the fires warm in your home this month!
As such, there are quite a few new original holiday movies coming to the service. At the beginning of the month, Eddie Murphy stars in Candy Cane Lane. In this film, the Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America star plays a determined man who is willing to go above and beyond to win the annual Christmas home decoration contest in his neighborhood – even if it means making a very magical deal.
The DC universe will also be getting festive in December thanks to Merry Little Batman, an animated feature that sees Batman’s son, Damian Wayne, stumble upon a villainous plot on Christmas eve, one that may give him a chance to save the day when his dad isn’t around.

The belief that the dead live on in our memories is often the only comfort anyone can think to offer the bereaved, or those in the process of losing a loved one. But for Takashi (Mirai Moriyama), the introspective adult son at the heart of Kei Chika-ura’s quietly tectonic heartbreaker, that comfort is unavailable on multiple levels. Not only has he been long estranged from his father, Yohji (a shattering San Sebastian Best Performance-winning Tatsuya Fuji), but Yohji’s own precipitous descent into the fog of dementia means that whatever Takashi can now learn of him, at this late stage, is jumbled and fragmentary and possibly false. How can we adequately remember someone who cannot remember himself?
Like so much of “Great Absence,” that question is posed as a kind of mystery, made all the eerier by the ordinariness of the clues that tease its solution — an uncanceled meal delivery,...

Cut to June 2023, when she finally released the film after nine years of waiting. We sat with Nidhi, 33, to know what made her release the film this month when it was shot in 2016.
“When I started I was young and disoriented as an artiste. Also, I was newly married. I was still finding my way,” Nidhi said candidly. “Eventually, there were creative differences between the team and therefore it got delayed. I guess, the film industry was also not ready to have a female writer-director making a film with a female protagonist.”
Her film ‘I Wish’ is the story of Isha and Vismay, who are in love, and their struggle after moving in together. They embark on separate paths of self-discovery to save their love. A musical journey unfolds, filled with hope and uncertainty. Will they find a way back to each other? That’s the crux of the ‘I Wish’ story.

Do you remember what you were doing the evening of May 16, 1983? Well, you may have been one of the 47 million people tuned into NBC’s landmark special “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever.”
It was the star-studded celebration hosted by Emmy nominee Richard Pryor which saw Michael Jackson reuniting with his brothers for a medley of their Jackson 5 hits including “I Want You Back,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There.”
But it was Jackson’s solo performance of his blockbuster No. 1 hit “Billie Jean” from his breakthrough album “Thriller” which galvanized the audience. It was an electrifying turn where he introduced the fedora, black sequin jacket and glove and his momentous moonwalk routine during the bridge of the song, all of which became his trademarks when performing “Billie Jean.” The New York Times described the routine as “astonishing. He is clearly the heir apparent to the dazzling androgyny...

20th Century Studios has unveiled the first footage of its remake of “White Men Can’t Jump,” starring Sinqua Walls and Jack Harlow.
Set to Skee-Lo’s “I Wish,” the 30-second clip features footage of the two playing basketball and arguing the merits of the finest cinematic artists of our time.
“I’m like the P. T. Anderson of basketball psychological warfare,” Harlow’s character, named Jeremy, says in the trailer, referring to Anderson as “our greatest living director.”
“Spike Lee is our greatest living director,” Walls’ Kamal responds.
Released in 1992, the original “White Men Can’t Jump” starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as a pair of street basketball hustlers who team up for a big match-up. Written and directed by Ron Shelton, the sports comedy was a box office success upon release and has garnered a reputation as one of the more beloved studio films of the ’90s.

Ahead of its debut on Hulu, 20th Century Studios has shared the first official look at the upcoming “White Men Can’t Jump” remake. Starring Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls in similar roles first originated by Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes, the new film comes 31 years after the original became a box office hit and longtime favourite.
In the teaser set to Skee-Lo’s “I Wish”, Harlow, who plays Jeremy, and Walls, who stars as Jamal, are seen struggling to come together as a two-man streetball team. “I knew this was a mistake,” Kamal quips after the two debate whether P.T. Anderson or Spike Lee is a better director.
Set for a May 19 release on the streaming platform, the remake is co-written by Kenya Barris and directed by Calmatic, with Lance Reddick, Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Tamera ‘Tee’ Kissen as well as Myles Bullock and rapper Vince Staples rounding out the cast.

In case you didn't know, there's a One Direction edition of the popular Heardle game, and it's the perfect way for Directioners to test their knowledge! If you haven't played Heardle yet, it's pretty simple: you're given the first few seconds of a song, and you have to try to guess the track in the shortest amount of time possible. You get one second to start and can continue adding seconds to the clip until you get it.
If you know the beginnings of songs, this should be easy! That's why we put together a cheat sheet of the opening lyrics to all of One Direction's songs. However, bear in mind that not every song's opening will have lyrics, so you really have to know those intro notes.

Russia’s premiere animation studio, Soyuzmultfilm has recently hit headlines. Rumors say that the state-funded studio will transition into a private company open to commercial industry. While some fear the studio will break its infamous experimental streak, Nadia Goldman’s “I Wish” is a testament that this won’t go away anytime soon.
“I Wish” will play in Cartoons Underground from 20-27 November.
“I Wish” follows a dream-poem of an unnamed girl. Everything in this world is defined in a deceptively simple cloak of black or white; singular lines define trees and veins contour outlines of feet. French and Russian utterances ease through the film, threading each disparate thread. Do not be fooled, however. This confusing dreamscape is quick to erupt however, jolting our dreamer – and us – awake.

“I Wish” follows a dream-poem of an unnamed girl. Everything in this world is defined in a deceptively simple cloak of black or white; singular lines define trees and veins contour outlines of feet. This confusing dreamscape is quick to erupt however, jolting our dreamer – and us – awake.

With the Oscars coronating another winner for best original song, it’s an occasion to look back at 20 of the times when the golden guy got it most right with the tune he carried, from “Lullaby of Broadway” to “Lose Yourself.”
1: “White Christmas”
from “Holiday Inn” (1942), by Irving Berlin
It always feels strange watching the “Holiday Inn” scene where Bing Crosby, playing a songwriter, teaches this song to Marjorie Reynolds as something that had recently come off the top of his head, because implicit in the scene is the idea that “White Christmas” was written by a human, not God. The same could be said of its status of an Oscar winner, which never fails to surprise younger generations: Isn’t it from a hymnal of some sort? If it’s true that Berlin said at the time that it wasn’t just the best song he ever wrote...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 4, Episode 8 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Nov. 18 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” went with a double elimination on Wednesday night, unmasking two contestants in the process: Basketball star Lonzo Ball, who had been disguised as the “Whatchamacalit,” and viral sensation “Dr. Elvis” Francois, the so-called “singing surgeon” who became famous in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. (Watch the unmaskings below.)
Ken Jeong, a huge basketball fan, was the only panelist to figure out that Whatchamacalit was Ball.
The rest of the panel also went heavy with sports names: Robin Thicke picked Michael Strahan; Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg’s guess was Devin Booker; while Nicole Scherzinger guessed Carmelo Anthony. Guest panelist Cheryl Hines thought it was her “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star Jb Smoove.

The Masked Singer travelled into heretofore unexplored crooning country Wednesday, on two fronts.
First, the show debuted the Baby Alien costume, which complete obscures the singer inside (and also forces that person to engage in some basic puppetry). Second — and a much bigger deal, overall — the performer inside the Gremlin costume decided that he was done after one musical number and unmasked himself.

It is fair to say that Hirokazu Koreeda is a master of the sentimental family drama, with earlier films such as “Nobody Knows” (2004) and his recent string of lauded dramas “I Wish” (2011), “Like Father, Like Son” (2013) and “Our Little Sister” (2015), all of which deal with the relationships between parents and siblings. Writing and directing almost all of his films himself, has allowed Koreeda to develop a recognisable style of his own that is beautiful and plaintive.
“I Wish” (2011) tells the story of two young boys, separated by their parents as they plot to be re-united. The older brother Koichi (Koki Maeda) lives with his mother Nozomi (Nene Otsuka), while the younger brother Ryunosuke (Oshiro Maeda) lives with his musician father Kenji (Joe Odagiri). Koichi hears a rumour that once the new Shinkansen bullet train is running, if you can stand at the point of the track where...

Before establishing himself as one of Japan’s most internationally renowned directors, Hirokazu Koreeda was – and still is – a documentary maker. A year after making his feature film debut (1995’s “Maboroshi no hikari), “Without Memory” was his last documentary before dedicating his energies to feature films.
The documentary follows the life of unfortunate Sekine Hiroshi, who, following an operation, due to Japanese insurance complications, was mistakenly not given the necessary vitamins required while in recovery in a botched cost-cutting measure. When he awakes, Hiroshi can only recall his life up to the point of the surgery; everything beyond that is simply forgotten within minutes.
Filmed over a number of years, the documentary follows his relationship with his family: his wife and full-time confidant Miwa and his two sons and the discussions they have about what his experience is like not being able to recall anything that has just happened to him.

Hayley Kiyoko has dropped another song from her I’m Too Sensitive for This Shit project: “Runaway.” She launched with the song “I Wish” over the summer and the last single will come out in January.
On the catchy song, Kiyoko wants honesty from her partner. She is falling hard, feeling “nauseous” and like a “little kid.” Kiyoko is also hoping that all those red flags are not real. “If you’re not afraid/Let me hear you say/Something that won’t make/make me run away,” she sings on the chorus.

Hayley Kiyoko has learned a lot in the year-and-a-half since she released her debut album, Expectations. Most of those lessons were learned on the road during the months she spent headlining tours globally.
“As an artist, there’s no book on how to survive tour and how to take care of yourself and be there for others,” she admits to Rolling Stone over the phone. Over the course of her heavy touring schedule, Kiyoko figured out her limits in a way that made her feel “stronger” for the next chapter of her career.

Hayley Kiyoko has returned with the Halloween-appropriate “Demons.” The track will appear on an upcoming collection of music titled I’m Too Sensitive for This Shit.
“Demons” launches with a heavy, stomping synth riff that maintains throughout the song. On the track, Kiyoko fights the demons in her head that are “Tryin’ to eat/Tryin’ to feed me/Lies until I’m dead”; she sings in an altered, creepy voice on the chorus. Throughout the song, she mostly succumbs to the creatures, asking to be left alone with them.

Hayley Kiyoko knows cars. Her dream rides have included a Bugatti Veyron — among the fastest production cars on Earth — and classics like a ’57 Chevy and an Austin-Healey. She can talk everything from torque curves to five-star safety ratings.
“I’m obsessed,” Kiyoko says as she pilots an Audi e-tron through the tree-lined streets of L.A.’s ritzy Bel Air neighborhood. “My dad used to keep auto magazines in the bathroom to browse, and we went to car shows for Father’s Day every year. Cars are my steez.”

Cnco, Megan Thee Stallion and “Sweet but Psycho” singer Ava Max (pictured) have been added to the performer lineup at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The three will take the stage during the VMAs’ red carpet pre-show, hosted by Terrence J and Nessa. Zara Larsson will join the two hosts as a special correspondent.
On top of the pre-show’s performances and celebrity interviews, Hayley Kiyoko will present the award for the 2019 Push artist of the year. The “I Wish” singer previously won the award in 2018.
Cnco and Megan Thee Stallion are both nominated for moonmen at next week’s awards. Thee Stallion’s latest single, “Hot Girl Summer” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign is up for best power anthem. The Latin American boy band is facing some tough competition for best group where they’re up against Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys, 5 Seconds of Summer and Bts.

It’s hard to fathom when Hayley Kiyoko rests. Between working on the follow-up to 2018’s Expectations and directing the video for her new single “I Wish,” the multi-hyphenate star also found time to star in Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” video. During an interview at Rolling Stone‘s “Morning Sessions” series (presented in partnership with the Ihg Rewards Club Premier Credit Card) during Lollapalooza weekend, Kiyoko opened up about the archery skills she employed during the shoot.
