Good till the gross last 10 minutes

He's a unique comic - a white man seemingly raised as a stereotypical black, complete with the manner of talking. In fact, he appears to want to BE this black charicacture. This alone makes for compelling watching.

This time up he has bits about his current divorce woes, which I found funny. His graphic recounting of his parents lifestyles brings to mind Richar Pryor. However, he ends up with just a gross description of oral sex to end his show. I've always felt comics who have to resort to such have run out of good humor. Your mileage may vary. Without this, I would have added a star in the rating.

Funny entertainer with a good stage presence.

The good thing about Gary Owen is that he has a very good stage presence. He knows how to talk to an audience, good interacting from him. He knows how to tell a joke and he's not afraid to laugh about himself either. It's all very enjoyable to watch, there are some really good stories and jokes. It's not the best stand-up comedy I ever watched but it's certainly entertaining enough to have a good time for one hour.

Nothing funny about this guy except the cost

Saw Gary Owen live at an improv stand-up several times didn't find him funny whatsoever really maybe a couple jokes here and there but he definitely wasn't worth paying twice as much as everybody else.

Very unlikely I'm ever going to be paying to see this guy again. It's really hard to understand him with this weird accent and through the microphone you can't hear a thing really he makes these weird noises and some sort of odd remarks that it's difficult to understand.

Maybe a different part of the country can understand what he's trying to tell you but here in California it was just really a dud.

Warning: Spoilers
I like Gary Owen - a whole lot! But this mid-divorce guy is more like listening to a sad old uncle who's experiencing a bad divorce and you feel obligated to listen to him because you like him - a lot!

To me, his show was embarrassing. Did I need to know he can easily afford to pay over $500,000 a year alimony? And that he flagrantly uses his celebrity to get upgrades and tons of freebies? No. It did not endear me to him - at all.

Nor did his teaser about why there was going to be a divorce. Say what it is or drop it.

In fact, I wish I'd dropped this whole show. Will I watch the next one? Absolutely. I'm hoping he comes full circle and returns to the best that we know he can be. But this is NOT it. IMHO.
