How to spoil a good idea
elzorro-144193 December 2022
I am a fan of "time travel movies" and I enjoy even mediocre movies if they, at least, contain references to other movies. Even parody movies with lack of imagination are appreciated. But this is something really bad. I gave a 4 (which is a lot) just because Javier Gutiérrez, a decent actor, was in.

I also want to confess I wanted to stop wasting my time after 30 minutes, but I did an effort to watch the whole thing.

Vulgar, repetitive, without chemistry... a mix of "comedy" (no a single decent joke) and no science (no even good for a mediocre parody). Acting bad, situations out of reality (nobody behaves like that, come on! Are people that empty, clumpsy, unreal?)... only thing that can be saved is a 1991 song or a cultural reference, but not even those were enough to put it in context... everything looked out of place, like in a bad decorate.

Plot... is there a plot? Characters... well, nobody cares about any character. And then the need of creating swallow characters, no a single one, no even a secondary character conveys something decent. These guys who created the product... Did they dedicate more than 30 seconds to think about it?

In summary. Idea is good, a few references to 1991 (objects from that time) and a couple of pop songs. Rest, a mix of empty, unpleasent characters nobody cares about. Vulgar jokes and non-sense sex references that are so out of place, boring dialogues, unrealistic situations and movie starts as a vulgar thing and goes (unbelivable!) down and down till make the whole thing one of the worst, if not the worst, "time travel" movie I have watched in my life.

A Farce, But A Deliberate One
nli1023 December 2022
If you are fed up of Hollywood time-travel movies then come see this old fashioned Euro-style farce. It is silly, it is crude in places, but it is always with a smile. Think Birdcage (but not as sharp).

A disfunctional 90s family are transported to the 2022s and discover some shocking facts about what happened after they left. It feels like it was made in the 90s which I think is the reason people are very down on this odd little gem.

If you are expecting Rick & Morty then avoid, but if you fancy something a Little different and don't mind that it doesn't make a great deal of sense in places then come and enjoy the ride.

If there has been a change in 30
dzkkmhwc15 January 2023
I think Spain is the best place to show the magnitude of change that happened in 30 years, I saw it first hand , how Madrid changed from a village to a metropolis, this film is just on point, not to mention funny with a touch of Almodóvar in it. Be warned it is definitely not for everyone. The characters are over developed as it is commonly done in Spanish comedies, but funny and fresh and it will help a lot if you speak Spanish of course. And as all time travle movies , the disparity plays the biggest part by comparison to our selves , did we really feel this huge change in our life amd what would we do if we are thrown in the future 30 years from now?

Lot of Fun - back to the Past
edumartmend6 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lot of Fun - back to the Past Que buen actor es Javier Gutiérrez.

Que divertido y como lo vive.

Nos alegras la vida Great actor Javier Gutiérrez. Great script. And sentimental. The love in a Family.

Beautiful Spanish summer Costa Blanca.

Life is too short. Keep together and enjoy every minute.

Do not judge people.

Do not judge by appearances; a rich heart may be under a poor coat." And I can't emphasize it enough.

We are a society quick to judge the success of others based on external appearances. But I can't think of a more foolish metric to utilize.

What would I do if I could travel to the future?

The first thing I would do if I travelled in the future is I will meet my self first then my family & my friends. I will know everything what is going to happen in my life before it happens. So I can learn accidents in my life and also in my loved one's life and I will prevent it.

oh my god i left you behind...30 years ago...

Or was it the other way. Anyway, if you like back to the future movies, with utopian worm hole storyboards, trying to ondo things from happening, then you will fall in love with this one. Fortunately im old and have lived the 80's in the cinematheater and with a delicate vhs recorder at hand, having gone back and forth in the silverscreen magics of mr spielberg and mr lucas...and believe me when i say...youll get a manic monday feeling after watching this speedy gonzales spanish completto complotto on time travelling.

Its massive fun, made me sqwerl from laughter many times, and the iggypop of plagiarism moving from 1991 to 2022 in a paddleboat in a massive mediterranian ocean thunderstorm to a digital world full of nepotism and myselfianism, only to find that the world has become to young, and your family aint what it used to be.

It has a well chosen musical score that makes this a wild trip into fantasyland, the acts are prima ware or vera or whatever, and except for some flawy loopholes in the story that where too big for a economically ruined countrys budget to handle ,its a messian call from the jungles, ''dont miss this''.

Its in spanish and a dubbed version will kill the fun so see the original spanish one.i myself completely CC dependent know barely 10 words in spanish just to be able to buy food at the supermercado, and had an orgasmic ride of fun viewing the fantastic pantomimic moves that belongs to the cocker spaniards only. So be my guest, try this, a recommend from the grumpy old man.

What a great ride!
rklein12319 May 2023
From Spain comes a fun time travel movie. A family vacation goes awry when most of the family is jolted 30 years into the future.

The actors are so well matched to the characters, and the characters are just great. The action is fast and funny. Very funny. And the story is touching too, as mom and dad try to solve the mystery of what happened to their daughter years ago, and endeavor to change history.

The missing daughter's brother is very funny too.

They carry a certain innocence from 1991 to a much slicker and technologically advanced 2022 . This leaves plenty of room for the comedy, which fits so smoothly into the plot.

It's touching, too, and I admit to getting a little verklempt here and there, as people do their best to make things right.

There wasn't a dull moment in this film.

(Speaking of time travel) I was reminded by the humor of Pedro Almodóvar's 1988 "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.")

Such an enjoyable movie! A rollicking and exciting ride across the decades.

A real treat
matt_sole-372-20820326 August 2023
When I saw the film was subtitles rather than dubbed I almost didn't watch but I'm glad I did.

What starts off as a rather campy romp actually turns into quite a gripping story. Time travel movies are as old as time but this one actually gives a new spin to the genre.

By the end I was really invested in the characters and really loved where the story took them in the final few scenes. Pilar and Rodrigo were my two favourite characters, especially Pilar finding herself through modern day values.

This is well worth a watch and well worth reading the subtitles. I may have to watch a second time to pick up all the bits I missed.
