“Do you know what it means to be loved by death?”
Anne Rice is a prolific gothic horror novelist who has eternally changed the shape of vampire fiction. Anne’s literature has flourished for decades, but the film and TV adaptations of her best works have been a mixed bag. Many audiences were ready to dismiss Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire when it first premiered on AMC in 2022, only for it to rise from its grave as one of the year’s best series – horror or otherwise. Interview with the Vampire perfectly captures Rice’s painful pathos that uses the veil of supernatural storytelling and monstrous creatures to explore the human condition. Interview with the Vampire’s second season elevates its moving character development to greater heights and improves upon everything that already worked so well in its debut season. From Jaws leaving him scarred at the age of 5 to The Shining inspiring his performance in The Spiderwick Chronicles, the horror genre has had a huge impact on Christian Slater over the years. However, when it comes to real life, the actor never believed in the supernatural until spending one night in a hotel in Miami, which slightly changed his stance on the subject.
While he and his wife had plans to spend six days in the hotel, the Interview with the Vampire star recounted leaving The Biltmore Hotel just after their first night.

“Guilty, or not guilty?” That is the question on Santiago’s (Ben Daniels) lips in the newest Interview With the Vampire Season 2 teaser. The video references an infamous trial scene near the end Anne Rice‘s novel of the same name, as hinted by Santiago’s judge’s wig. In the new teaser, Santiago, the leading vampire thespian of the Théâtres des Vampires in Paris, recites the “Laws of the Vampire,” one of the most important being that no vampire can kill another. That doesn’t bode well for Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Delainey Hayles), who attempted to kill Lestat (Sam Reid) in the Season 1 finale. The vampires of the Parisian coven knew Lestat long before he arrived in New Orleans. As revealed in the first Interview With the Vampire Season 2 trailer, Lestat is a founding member of their theater. And he’s been presumed dead by Louis and...

Few television series debut to the kind of widespread acclaim Interview with the Vampire Season 1 did.
The first season was a revelation in many ways, from its take on the Anne Rice classic to its incredible casting and breathtaking set pieces. Critics and fans ate everything up and left no crumbs on the plate.
But a successful first effort doesn't guarantee a successful second act, as we've seen many series fail to capitalize on the goodwill and momentum gained during their freshman debut.
There's no rule book you can follow to a tee to avoid falling into a sophomore slump. If there were, then no series would ever regress, right?
One reason series take that step backward instead of forward is by getting away from what worked and leaving viewers feeling like they're not watching the same show anymore.
A lot of times, a series gets a wider berth after achieving success,...

I knew I was going to shed a tear or two at Olivia Rodrigo's "Guts" Tour. I'm just a girl, after all. On April 6, the three-time Grammy winner performed her second of four sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City. And for an hour and a half on Saturday night, Rodrigo reminded us of the good, bad, and ugly of girlhood.
A bag adorned with ribbon bows slung over my shoulder, I screamed in anticipation with a crowd full of sequin miniskirts, glittery purple eyeshadow, and fishnet tights as Rodrigo ascended onto the stage for her opening number, "Bad Idea Right." To my surprise, the audience wasn't just young teens, kids, and their parents. An unexpected handful of 20- and 30-something adults like me were just as ready to jump and sing along to a mix of tunes from her sophomore album, "Guts," and her critically acclaimed debut album,...

Every love story is a fairytale, right? Love has been the central point of the earliest literature, and it still hasn’t changed much. Adapted from Erin Doom’s novel, the 2024 Italian romance drama film The Tearsmith is the story of two kids growing up in a claustrophobic orphanage, only to break the shackles when they’re older.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2: Cast, plot, premiere date, and everything else there is to know
The timeless love story at the heart of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire won many fans in 2022, but with increased delays for the second season, a lot has changed during the extended hiatus.
It’s rare for a vampire drama to offer more than it borrows from the genre, but the show managed to break through armed with many of Anne Rice’s unique storylines from the novel series.
At the time of its launch, AMC was losing The Walking Dead as the long-running zombie drama signed off after 11 seasons, so new franchises were in demand by the cabler.
Interview with the Vampire broke through with critical acclaim. The show garnered plenty of praise and solid ratings, resulting in a very early renewal for Season 2.
Now that new episodes are approaching, we must review everything we know about the upcoming season.
Get all the details below.

AMC Networks has released the official trailer for Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire Season 2, which will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on May 12, 2024. The series stars Jacob Anderson, along with Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, Delainey Hayles, and Ben Daniels.
The interview continues in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire Season 2. In 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Anderson) recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Bogosian).
Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia (Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia.

If you’ve been theorizing that Armand has a hand in the suppression of Louis’ painful memories in AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire, the newest trailer for Season 2 adds more fuel for that fire. Louis’ memories come flooding back in the new Interview With the Vampire Season 2 trailer, released during The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale on Sunday, March 31, and they’re a doozy. We see Claudia (Delainey Hayles) scream, “It’s never been about me!” from the Théâtres des Vampires stage, her face bruised and bloodied, Louis attacking Lestat (Sam Reid) in a fit of rage, and more painful moments as Jacob Anderson‘s troubled vampire tells Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) they need to “get every detail right” in their Dubai interview. It’s a gut-wrenching experience for him as “all those years” start “coming back.” Claudia is initiated into the Parisian vampire coven, which Armand...

Andy Cohen doesn’t want any drama with Ryan Seacrest this New Year’s Eve.
The Bravo personality is once again hosting CNN’s special from Times Square alongside Anderson Cooper.
At the top of each hour, the hosts are taking shots of alcohol to toast the new year; two years ago, Cohen and Cooper got noticeably tipsy, especially Cohen, who dissed Seacrest on the air as the latter was hosting ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
“If you look behind me, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers performing,” Cohen said on the December 2021 special. “I’m sorry, but if you’re watching ABC, you’re watching nothing.” Cohen later apologized on his SiriuxXM radio show.

After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike (which finally ended last month), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. A specific premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but TV Insider has gotten their hands on a pair of images that show Sam Reid back in the role of the vampire Lestat – and it looks like these images show Lestat in two different time periods. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.

Olivia Rodrigo was the musical guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Monday night (December 18th), and she performed a string-assisted rendition of her single “vampire.”
Earlier this month, Rodrigo also performed “vampire” on Saturday Night Live as a solo piano version. This time around, she stood on stage surrounded by a ton of microphones, with a pianist and orchestral string section behind her. With all her focus on the song’s vocals, Rodrigo sounded anything but vampiric.

It’s hard to kill a vampire. It’s even harder to kill your vampire lover. Jacob Anderson‘s Louis de Pointe du Lac couldn’t finish the job of offing Sam Reid‘s Lestat de Lioncourt in the bloody Interview With the Vampire Season 1 finale, and that will come back to haunt him in Interview With the Vampire Season 2, premiering in 2024 on AMC. The new episodes cover the second half of Anne Rice‘s novel of the same name. Fans of the book know this means Lestat will have less of a presence in the new season, but the story won’t be completely devoid of the French vampire. TV Insider has an exclusive first look at Reid’s Lestat in Season 2 (above), and he’s seething with rage in the photo, his undead eyes glistening. Just what he’s angry about, however, is leaving us in throes of increasing wonder.

After a cold open poking fun at Congress’ bonkers antisemitism hearing and Adam Driver delivering a piano-driven serenade during his monologue that took shots at Tesla Cybertruck buyers, Saturday Night Live musical guest Olivia Rodrigo flexed her own piano (and vocal) skills with a twinkling-the-ivories rendition of her hit single “vampire.”
The Rolling Stone cover star exhibited her delicate-yet-powerful vocals during the slow-burning piano-serenade version of the tune:
“I used to think I was smart/But you’ve made me look so naïve/The way you sold me for parts...

This week’s Saturday Night Live opened with a sketch mocking this week’s sham antisemitism hearing in front of a GOP-led Congress, which saw three university presidents (and Maga Rep. Elise Stefanik) embarrass themselves while answering inane questions about the temperature on college campuses. Then, both host Adam Driver and musical guest Olivia Rodrigo flexed their piano skills, with the former mocking Tesla Cybertruck buyers whilst serenading Santa, and the latter performing a delicate piano version of her hit single “vampire.”

Glenn Danzig (Verotika) brought his Vampire Spaghetti-Western Death Rider in the House of Vampires to select theaters back in 2021, but it’s been quite a while since we’ve heard a peep about the project. When will you actually be able to watch the movie?
Bloody Disgusting has learned this week that Cleopatra will be releasing Glenn Danzig’s Death Rider in the House of Vampires on DVD and Blu-ray sometime in December 2023!
You can pre-order your copy – various editions are available – right now.
Patrick Bromley wrote in his 2021 review for Bloody Disgusting, “Death Rider in the House of Vampires has all the charm of Verotika, and nearly all of its flaws, too. I can’t fault either party for rushing out...

Singer-actress Olivia Rodrigo is still unable to get over the massive love she has received in Grammys as she received over six nominations. Reeling in disbelief, Rodrigo has called the nods a “massive honour”.
Speaking to ‘People’ at the ‘Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ premiere in Los Angeles, the songstress said: “Yeah. So insane. It’s just such an honor and such a pleasure to be recognised by the music community in such an incredible way.”
She also jokingly added that watching so many of her peers being nominated, made the six nods less exciting. The 20-year-old said: “Honestly, sometimes that’s more exciting than you getting nominated. You are just so proud of everyone that you love.”
Rodrigo further added: “Noah Kahan got nominated for best new artist, and we were so excited. I was so excited that he got nominated. He was so excited that I got nominated.
