Originally filmed at Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago in May of 2017, the filmed version of 'Where Did We Sit On The Bus?' spent years trying to find a home. That finally happened in 2020 during the global Pandemic when a need for online content made that possible. A collaborative partnership between Geva Theate Center in New York, Victory Gardens Theater, and Bitter Jester Studios enabled the completion of the edit and a highly-anticipated on-demand streaming presentation.
This 90-minute 'concert' was filmed with four cameras in front of a live audience on a single day. While the bulk of the footage was primarily taken from the main recording, the final edit is actually a combination of the uninterrupted live filming along with select pickup shots, all combined in post and artistically edited. Pickups were not filmed in front of a live audience but the crowd did stay after filming to record audio "wild tracks," which were used to recreate their reactions (laughter, applause, etc.) during the live performance.
