Before watching this movie, you need to understand that you'll be watching low-budget guerrilla filmmaking. Don't expect Hollywood production values. But I don't say this as a slight against the movie -- I love guerrilla filmmaking, and I think we need more of it.
My biggest issue with the movie is that the pacing sometimes lags. However, though it sometimes feels a tad slow, the movie is always moving forward on a clearly defined path.
One strength of the movie is in the way that a very non-likable character is made likable. Our hero, if we take a step back, is somebody that most people really wouldn't root for. But in "Waldo the Dog", even without much dialog, we really get inside his head, and feel things from his perspective.
The strongest point of the movie is the ending. A solid emotional impact hits us like a swift punch to the gut, and for me, the ending really left an impression.
I look forward to seeing the next feature from this very passionate filmmaker.
