- Judge Rensen: Speaking of that, is there anything in your past that's best left unsaid? Any arrests, anything?
- Josh Macahan: Not that I know of, Judge. I mean the only time I ever even seen the inside of a jail was when I went to visit Luke, seein' him behind bars.
- Judge Rensen: Well, lets not quite put it like that in the morning, shall we? See, the fewer times that Luke's name is connected with jails or bars or outlaws gangs or anything, well, the better it's gonna be for your brother.
- Marshal Russell: Look, they'll take it into consideration that he's your brother. You got excited, you weren't thinking.
- Luke Macahan: [pointing the marshal's own gun at him] I was thinking just fine. For what you and your friends did to my brother, it be worth hanging just to have the satisfaction of blowing your blamed head off.
- Laura Macahan: I'll tell you, Aint Molly, with Mr. Peasley out there in our barn, working... well, I just don't feel too comfortable is one way of putting it.
- Molly Culhane: Oh, I know what you mean, Laura. I think I once described him to Jessie as being 'unpredictable'.
- [Laura sighs]
- Molly Culhane: Though sometimes you do have to laugh at the things he says. But at other times, somehow his words just don't fit his expression.
- Laura Macahan: Maybe that's what I'm trying to say: even when he tells a joke, only his mouth smiles, his eyes never change expression.
- Ziggy: Macahan? You ain't a kin to them Macahan outlaws we've been hearin' about down in Los Mesa way?
- Zeb Macahan: What are you talkin' bout outlaws?
- Moss: Well the freight wagon man just passed here yesterday. He says there's a big manhunt going on down Rio Grande way. They've been a huntin' two fellas by the name of Lyle and Zeb.
- Ziggy: Oh, it's Luke and Josh. You ain't got the memory of a last years birdnest.
