Perhaps you've not yet heard of the acclaimed film, Aus dem Nichts, but that will change soon enough. The drama, titled In the Fade here, was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Foreign Language, and star Diane Kruger won the Best Actress award for it at Cannes earlier this year. Next up? The Oscars.
In this clip from the film, debuting on Et, Kruger's Katja Sekerci is seeking out justice against the neo-Nazis responsible for killing her husband and son. "These are my friends. Have you seen them?" Katja asks a hotel concierge in the scene, a tense encounter that quickly becomes a matter of life or death.

Damn you, Grey's Anatomy. Not only does "Out of Nowhere" offer up some of the most tense and emotional moments of the season, it ends on a giant cliffhanger. There's a lot I could say about all the hacking, bedroom eyes and dangerous surgeries in this episode. However, the saddest moment of the night is between Jackson and Maggie in the helicopter, despite the spray of human blood and gore.

Given the excellence of Season 14 thus far and of the 300th episode in particular, I had exceedingly high expectations for the mid season finale of Grey's Anatomy. I'm not gonna lie. I was incredibly disappointed, largely because the show's been on such a roll. Alas, "Out of Nowhere" was an exasperating hour which managed to be cliched and predictable while simultaneously overflowing with wasted potential. This was absolutely the weakest episode of the season. To be fair, Meredith Grey warned me in her opening voice over. This was a disaster I did not see coming.

Though Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead was the third in a row to feature almost non-stop smackdowns and shoot-’em-ups, battle fatigue and fatalities were beginning to be less of a concern than crises of conscience. In fact, the speed at which sides were forming (with Daryl, Morgan and Tara on Team Kill ’Em All, and Jesus, suddenly Rick and maybe Maggie on Team Live and Let Live) strongly suggested that, before the Saviors were vanquished, the allied forces would be fighting one another. Which characters wouldn’t still be around to see the conflict resolved? Read on…...

After a few features that went underseen — or altogether undistributed — in the United States, Fatih Akin is back in a big way this year. The latest film from the director behind the great Head-On is In the Fade, in which Diane Kruger plays a woman seeking revenge after her family is murdered by the neo-Nazi group National Socialist Underground. Following a debut at Cannes, Magnolia Pictures picked it up with an intention to push Kruger for Best Actress, and now a new trailer has landed.
We said in our review, “Fatih Akin sends a cumbersome bull into the socio-political china shop of present-day Germany, and all its racial and social divides, with In the Fade, a compelling (if somewhat ugly and hammy) contemporary revenge thriller wherein fear begets fear, hates begets hate, and thrills — however imprudent they might be — are easy to come by.”

Guys, don't freak out, but a grizzly bear nearly attacked your boyfriend Zac Efron. Obviously, and thankfully, he survived and he—and the work of Italian art that is his shirtless bod—emerged unscathed. The actor recalled the terrifying incident in a recent interview with People that was posted on Friday night. He said it took place on his and younger brother Dylan's recent trip to Montana to climb to the top of the Continental Divide. The two had visited Glacier National Park for a Columbia Sportswear ad campaign. "Out of nowhere, [we were like] 'Okay, that's a bear. Everybody stop.' And we all stood still," Efron...

Zac Efron grew up playing in the outdoors, but finding himself face to face with a bear on a recent hike isn’t something he was expecting.
On a recent trip to Montana to climb to the top of the Continental Divide, the actor — who along with his younger brother Dylan were decked out in Columbia Sportswear — got a little more adventure than he was looking for when they came across a grizzly bear.
“Out of nowhere, ‘Okay, that’s a bear. Everybody stop. And we all stood still,” Efron tells People exclusively about the face-off.
However, the bear didn’t back down,...

Not to blow your minds with my superpowers of perception or anything, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a villain problem. By this point, that’s part of its DNA — it’s like saying that Brian De Palma movies have split diopter shots or that Christopher Nolan movies have a white male character who has to crack a code in order to forgive himself for his wife’s death, or that DC movies have utterly deranged defenders who have already stopped reading this article in favor of tweeting me death threats. Flimsy and forgettable bad guys are as much a part of Marvel movies as the quips and spandex. They’re not a bug, they’re not a feature, they’re just a fact.
Supervillains are only as interesting as the heroes they’re forced to fight against, and the Marvel squad has had a pretty rough draw in that department.

Batman #21 is one book that DC has tried to keep under wraps for as long as possible. After the “Superman Reborn” fiasco fell victim to the Internet’s inherent spoiler culture, the publisher took no chances with this issue. It’s so hush-hush that we only received our review copy at the eleventh hour before release day. Now, the time of reckoning has arrived. One of the most-anticipated storylines of the year is finally here, but does it live up to the hype?
Part one of “The Button” begins in the Batcave with Batman examining the infamous buttons and accidently dropping one on Psycho-Pirate’s mask. There’s a strange reaction and Flashpoint Batman (Thomas Wayne) appears to his son for a moment. Bruce calls Barry to tell him about what’s happened, with the Flash saying he’ll be there in a minute, literally.

With several other titles dealing with the aftermath of “Superman Reborn,” Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason’s Superman attempts something different. The writers decided to include Batman and Robin in this arc titled “Black Dawn” and explore family ties. It’s an all-star cast and there’s a lot to get excited about here, but is it a good idea to turn this title into the Jon Kent show?

Out Of Nowhere is a strange and mysterious film that combines the bizarre mentality of David Lynch with the curious displacement of time and space reminiscent of stories from The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone. The film could be described as a darker, grittier sort of Groundhog’S Day, but in Will Lamborn’s short film there is no clear and evident happy ending, leaving the audience wondering what the heck just happened… or, more appropriately… what the heck is happening?
This sense of bewilderment is not a negative criticism of Out Of Nowhere. In fact, its what makes the film interesting. Unlike the more readily accessible and standard feature film, a short film has the luxury of bending or even breaking the rules. Filmmakers get to experiment with short films and it produced some rather interesting results. Out Of Nowhere is an example of this experimentation. The story wets the appetite,...
