A young man carelessly leaves his car on the road at night.

Warning: Spoilers
A young man carelessly leaves his car on the road at night. While he is gone, a car swerves to miss it and crashes. A young woman improvises a mournful air on an upright piano while her mother, sister, and uncle silently drink tea. At a factory, things are going downhill.

As in Greek tragedy, the truth emerges in each of the characters, with shattering consequences. From the Forum essay by Birgit Kohler:

"The tragedy of the victims of Argentina's military dictatorship, who were abducted, detained in secret prison camps and separated from their children. The tragedy of the children, who were put up for adoption and left in the dark about their background. Lives damaged forever…"

Pitch-perfect performances; rich, dark photography (shot with Red camera); and a deeply effective score which blends effortlessly into the daughter's meditations at the family piano.
