Problem-solving - the Reagan way
sannyex21 November 2021
Danny, the Commissioner and Erin are each given in-your-face challenges to their law & order savvy and sense of fairness. Danny & Baez navigate thru a Vietnamese community to solve a major robbery; Frank tests his administrative wisdom to consider an unsolicited request to work with his 1-PP team; and Erin faces her DA's command to take a case "below her paygrade,"

Name of actor
bo-ulrich-220 November 2021
I can´t find the name in the cast-list of the actor playing Detective Ruddock (?), the "threatening" new staff member and doing a good job with it too. What´s her name?

Ilfenesh Hadera Is the Actress
imrealuk21 November 2021
Detective Ruddick is played by Ilfenesh Hadera to me, I last saw her in Godfather of Harlem amongst other things.

Not sure why her character isn't showing up on here.

Actress is credited
arcata-5327423 December 2023
The actress playing the new detective is here in IMDB and also in the credits leading the episode on TV.

1. Typical representation of immigrants (legal or not) who profess to coming here because they like the American way, but once they arrive remain the same as at home, retaining their language, customs, etc. And then complaining that the police won't protect them.

2. Erin's DA boss is pathetic. After shafting Erin's case last week, she continues to try to show her boss position. And what is with her voice. Why do so many actors these days have to speak in that low-level, gravelly tone?

3. In reviewing that minor bad act by that Lt a major concern was his pension. We all should have a gravy train like that. Do you have any idea how much is spent on civil servant penchions in the US? And why should he have a union having any say in his treatment. Again, we should all be so lucky to have such a guardian angel. And it is fairly unlikely that public opinion would cause some ground swell that would topple the dept. If his short stint in the drunk tank proves him to be a bad cop, the church his butt out.

4. The policy of special assignment for decorated cops is probably not bad. But the cop should be qualified and there should be an opening. And the Big 3 should be a little professional. I love Abigail and hate Sid.

5. And Linda was one of my favorite characters on any show ever.

This is still one of my favorite shows. Just certain little things bug me. The real big one is Frank kow-towing to the Catholic Church. Can the head of the baptist or Lutheran churches just walk into his office and demand action? I guess that is enough.

Some of the characters didn't look good
tsang64825 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Many of the main/recurring characters look very bad on this episode: Erin falsely accuses her boss of sabotaging her (potential) run for DA, and Frank and his regular staff refusing new ideas to the table. I find what happened at 1PP in this episode a bit disturbing. Yes, Detective Riddick may have rocked the boat in a very disrespectful way, but I think she looks much more professional than Gromley. Is that how you treat competent staff?

Also, a plot this episode didn't address is why is that Vietnamese family exempt from paying "protection money"?

Detective Ruddock
dguirnera20 November 2021
I am not 100% but I think the actor is Aisha Tyler who played Tara in Criminal Minds. It was a good episode but to much talking in house and not enough on the street.

Guest star name

Her name is Ilfenish Hadera. I'm not sure why she's not been credited but she was in the Baywatch movie with Dwayne 'the Rick' Johnson and Zack Effron.

i take it back

I thought season 11 was bad. This is another terrible episode. This is going down faster than bud light stock. What are they thinking with these ridiculous castings with ridiculous essence sucking parts .

It has become a series abouty little petty people pretending victimhood is a virtue. Arrogant non achievers I am getting this needs to be realistic but relity were this is reeal or desirable is not how the world works... Granted this series is a lot longer than series like the wire but maybe it should have ended after season 7. Linda goe was the first sign... somebody needs to fire sone writers and the casting director.

Guest Actor
LadymissJ2 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The guest actor role was the usual way women of colour appear to be portrayed in this show. The way she was treated in this episode by the main cast was simply atrocious. I realise it's fiction but black women are either b@@**es or worse, however in this case the character was in the right but still by the end had been sent away so all the main characters could breathe a sigh of relief !
