Much ignored history brought to light
SnoopyStyle30 September 2013
Presenter Gus Casely-Hayford examines the little examined kingdoms of dark Africa. With no written records, these kingdoms have long been ignored both by academics and popular culture.

Using more subjective evidences such as traditional stories, cultural icons, ancient art objects, and other non-written records, he uncovers the stories of the origins and progressions of these kingdoms. With such subjective evidences, some of the revelations are more guesses than facts. However they still provide fascinating insights in little discussed peoples of Africa. Gus does show his enthusiasm for the material which helps a lot.

good idea, terrible execution.

The idea itself is fascinating, but the execution seems more of an ego trip for the narrator, who's ugly mug we need to see every 5 seconds. This really is unbearable and ruins the whole experience.
