I expected to see a snowstorm, or at least SNOW!!!!
mja5812 December 2021
The title should have been "Silly Snow Day" as everything going on made almost no sense. I figured out the "twist" ending about half hour into the movie - if I figured it out, you will too.

Anyway, this was set in the LMN/Lifetime Universe, where things just don't make sense, but are fun to watch:

1. An attractive cast (actually doing a good job) playing out characters that may have been from an alternative universe.

2. The Au Pair's charges carrying on like a latter day "Buffy and Jody" (where's Mr. French?)

3. Once again, people roam around a strange house house and almost immediately find evidence to get someone implicated in a crime.

Not perfect, but really fun to watch.

6/10.

Au pair nightmare!!!
Chartreuse112 December 2021
Maggie, is an au pair for a wealthy couple, Frederick and Kristen Cargill, who have 2 kids. Trouble is Mr. Cargill has the hots for Maggie and when she refuses his advances, he fires her and makes sure she can't get another job, anywhere! Movie was well-written and well acted. Definitely recommended!

Horrible crackling sound...
wongieteam14 December 2021
Movie decent, but the video has a lot of static throughout the entire movie. I was worried it was my iPad, but it was on my iPhone and another iPad as well. LMN and Hulu need to proof check everything before launching it to the public!

It could have been worse, I guess
lockewasalwaysbest16 December 2021
Someone's trying to kill her, run her over with a car, and she "doesn't want to talk about it" when the police officer asks her why her number one suspect might have it in for her. Does she think he's date material or something so she doesn't want to admit she rejected the guy's advances? I don't know why any woman in this day and age would be SO vapid and stupid. You tell the police EVERYTHING. Including the passive aggressive nonsense.

The music is awful and the lead overacts her fear, sometimes in places where it makes no sense to be SO afraid. She's almost like the bougie pet cat who suddenly finds herself homeless in the rain and can't function. But she's going for her Master's degree in Social Services. Okay. God help the kids in her case files.

Why the Snow Day Title? No Snow
catfanatic8881 September 2023
This was actually a pretty decent movie as Lifetime type of movies go. But throughout the story, I kept waiting for the Dangerous snow day in the title. The film was about 95% over before one flake fell. It wasn't even a snow day. How odd. The movie was a pretty decent thriller with a twist at the end that I did not predict. I was sure that I knew the way it would end but nope. I did not. I'm a fan of movies in this genre that surprise me in a good way. It far exceeded my expectations. The acting was very good especially the police man. The children impressed me too. Adorable and talented. The script wasn't bad. I would recommend this little gem even without the snow day.

What snow day?
Farfallina7814 December 2021
An overdone plot and the casting of the conventionally attractive ah pair actress can't and should not save this clunker. AWFUL acting and you can figure out the real killer in like 20 minutes.

Came for the snow. Was bamboozled.

Warning: Spoilers
A few patches of cotton on the sidewalk does not a snow day make. Lifetime has done a few wintry movies lately but this one is lame in comparison. I love snow and will admit that I was curious to see what it would add to this movie but LMN let me down. Typical.

The story is nothing special. Typical nanny in peril. This movie has Meredith Thomas, Kate Watson and Matthew Pohlkamp and it's still boring. The acting from the lead and the deputy are mid at best. The deputy didn't need to be law enforcement and his behavior wasn't that official. Ugh this movie. They should have at least snowed them in at some point to increase tension or even had a blizzard as the backdrop.

There were only two ways this story could go so the twist really isn't.

It just pissed me off to hear the cop tell what's her face that she looks cold. Gimme a break. I think there's even a Christmas tree on the thumbnail which is just false advertising. They didn't even throw in an obligatory Christmas shopping scene or a hot cocoa scene or a snowball fight. But I guess there'd have to be snow on the ground for that.

I also find it hard to believe the nanny would get custody of the kids. Two sets of grandparents are gone?

This felt like a filler movie that they wanted to air during the Christmas holiday season. It also feels like a co vid movie where there are hardly any characters or extras in the movie. Like how is this deputy the only officer we see?

Lifetime has a low bar to begin with....
everyhoureveryday11 October 2023
But this movie really hit bottom. I have been loving bad Lifetime movies since the 90s, at least back then they had actual tv actors that you knew and a lot of based on real stories. I feel that most of their movies now are pretty bad, but there are a few gems.

This movie like all their others starts with a good idea and you can get through some of the annoying stuff and have fun watching these fun romps. Not this one. Both the writing and acting were equally awful. I don't even think good acting could have saved this predictable clunker. This is the first time I had to force myself to sit through the whole movie. I guess the one plus was minimal vocal fry?

A Toxic Couple
lavatch1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Maggie Ford grew up in a foster home. Her experience led her to love children, and her main goal is to pursue a career in social services. Maggie works for the Cargill family as an au pair, and she is wonderful with the sweet little children, Kaeden and Kohen. But the main drama pertains to Maggie's relationship with the parents, Frederick and Kristen, who are aptly described by Maggie as "a toxic couple."

Maggie is fired from her job after she refuses to give in to the demands of the sleazy Frederick Cargill. Her life turns into a nightmare when it appears as though someone is trying to kill her. It is eventually revealed that the previous au pair working for the Cargills was murdered. Is the powerful Frederick the source of Maggie's misery?

The strength of the film was the lovely performance by Nicolette Langley as Maggie. The character had to overcome tremendous adversity, and she is now a decent and caring young adult with a bright future. There was good dramatic tension as Maggie worked with Detective Holden Hayes to get to the bottom of the mystery of the dead au pair and identify who was tormenting Maggie.

There was a nice denouement with pancakes made for little Kaeden and Kohen by Maggie and Detective Hayes. The kids do not seem to miss their absentee parents, and they will not have to worry about being foster kids. The film was well performed by an able cast and well directed with a brisk pace and good location footage. Above all, the strong central character made this a sensitive and moving film.
