The Sweethearts of Delta Pi
lavatch30 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
For the sorority of Delta Pi Zeta at Benhurst University, an older and more experienced sister is designated as a "Big" while a new pledge is labeled a "Little." The idea is to form a symbiotic relationship between the sisters. Such is the relationship of the new pledge Drea Davrow and the chapter president, Callie Thompson. But instead of becoming closer, the two sisters are progressively drawn apart during the unfolding drama.

Perhaps unintentionally, the filmmakers presented the picture of a deeply disturbing and unpleasant environment among the sisters of Delta Pi. The previous year, Drea's older sister, Gaby, was one of the Delta Pi sisters, and she was murdered outside the sorority house. Now, on "Pref Night," Drea receives an ominous note that suggests foul play within the sorority led to her sister's death.

The Kappa Tau fraternity was even more of a depraved environment with the playboy baseball star Edward Joseph "Eddie" Hale, the erstwhile boyfriend of Callie. Eddie was likely involved in some capacity in the death of Gaby.

The truly genuine expression of friendship and support was apparent in the relationship of Drea and her roommate Jess, who was not invited to join the sorority. Jess provided the kind of commitment lacking in the sisterhood.

One of our favorite actresses, Ashley "Lifetime" Jones, played the minor role of Rebecca, the "house mother" of Delta Pi. But when it turns out that Rebecca is also Eddie's mother, the plot thickens.

While the performances were uniformly excellent, the pacing of the film was sluggish. And too many people knew too many details about the unsavory members of Delta Pi and Kappa Tau to make it unlikely that the death of Gaby Davrow could have ever been ruled a random act of violence due to a mugging.

There was a touching scene in the film when the sweethearts of Delta Pi sang their theme song. But the only member of the sorority to model the values espoused in the song was Drea.

The most stupid movie EVER!
nayden_yanev2 October 2022
Please, do not waste even a second of your life to watch this movie! Terrible actors, easy predictable scenes and no any suspense at all ! I was so suprised to see how highly rated it is, not deserve even 1 as a rate. Actors overacting so obviously, and I even getting angry at some scenes why I am still watching it. Screenplay and camera movement looks like was doing from a useless teenager. I don't know, if couldn't trust IMDB rates , how could I find any nice movie in the future. Should be another type of voting maybe or any different source. Usually I have never watched trailers, because this killing the pleasure of the moves!

Fun Lifetime Movie
missvinnet26 February 2023
I've been on a cheesy thriller binge lately and came across this movie.

I thought What Happened to My Sister was a fun for a lifetime movie. If you're expecting cinema level greatness you'll be disappointed, but if you enjoy made for tv movies like me, it's a fun way to pass the time. The plot follows Drea, a college freshman grieving the loss of her older sister who suddenly finds herself embroiled in a detective duo dynamic with her sweet and loyal roommate Jess. You have sorority drama, mama drama, and boy drama. The trifecta of a good lifetime thriller if you ask me. My biggest complaint is that I wish they could have focused more on Drea and Jess. I loved their friendship, but it felt like it got pushed aside too often and used as a convenient way to fill in plot holes. Jess ended up doing so much of the detective and connecting the dots work and would then just disappear into the background. I would have liked it if the movie focused more on their detective duo dynamic. Especially since Drea's romantic subplot felt kind of clunky and unnecessary. The acting varied (but that's part of the fun) The main actors (who played Drea and Jess) did well throughout the movie. The plot was simple to follow. The pace and writing could have been better. Overall a fun way to pass a boring evening.
