Beautiful small movie
pericatrajkov13 May 2011
I just cannot believe how this movie, only 5 min long, can cause such feelings when you watch it. It is so touching, and very beautiful. Music is also very well chosen, and makes this movie a real gold. Telling more about this movie would only be a spoiler, so I leave you to your imagination.

I would also recommend Small Pleasures (2008) by the same director (unfortunately this short is not on IMDb yet), that is as beautiful as this one. This one I recommend to all people. It's not long, so even if you don't like it (which I doubt), you will not lose much time.

9.5/10.

Simple, but beautiful

Warning: Spoilers
The Greek 2007 movie "Ti einai afto?" only runs for 5.5 minutes, but is a truly great watch. It was directed by Constantin Pilavios and he also wrote the script together with his brother(?) Nikos. It is basically all about the question "What is that?" and a father and son share a common experience. This film is also a great take on dementia and how to behave towards your beloved ones when times are not that easy. I see Pilavios is still making films today and I hope, he can maybe have an international breakthrough at some point. He was only in his early 20s when he made this one and now he is in his early 30s, so there is a lot of time left. Judging from his work here, I have no doubt that he has the talent to show us great emotion, no matter if in a showy or subtle way. I highly recommend this little movie here. Thumbs up.

the sparrow

Warning: Spoilers
A lesson from a father to his impatient son. A beautiful definition of to be father . A test who starts very sad because for viewer all seems clear - the old man, touched by dementia and his poor son giving, again and again, explanation. The same. But it is more. At end, you say - I know the story ! But the beauty , the grace and gentle storytelling are the significant ones. So, a sparrow, a 21 questions and 21 patient answers and another, after a time, three questions.
