This is a lovely, slow-paced, and character-driven series. No major events are happening; the focus is on relations between people and their conversations. I believe it's crucial that you like these types of series to enjoy A Storm for Christmas. The people who give this series bad reviews was expecting something different.

Just because you loved Home for Christmas (same director, some of the same actors), doesn't mean this series is a perfect fit for you. It's not really a similar at all, as Home for Christmas has a lot more humor, romance and more "action", while A Storm for Christmas is best described as mellow, cozy and moving.

The series is heartwarming and made me feel sad when it was over cause I started caring so much about several characters!

It's a breath of fresh air compared to many new-ish Christmas movies and series with so many clichés. Not to say there are no clichés in this one; there are, but in a different way.

There are many great actors here from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Recommend not watching the series dubbed cause you'll miss the fact that they speak different languages and therefore sometimes misunderstand each other.

I saw another review here stating how strange it is that one character switches between languages. This is likely the security guard who's not a native Norwegian speaker (the actress is American) and therefore changes to English sometimes. I do, however, agree it's strange that it is never really mentioned why she does that for international viewers.

And yes, there is a lot of profanity! Scandinavians aren't very religious people.

At first I was really confused because there are a lot of very different characters, but after a couple of episodes you get a pretty good grasp of who they are. All the actors are doing a good job portraying their character, and makes the story decently believable.

It was a wonderful idea to have different nationalities a part of this show, I feel most of the time it works what seems effortlessly.

The soundtrack and mood is great in every episode, and you feel you get closer and closer to a happy ending for all.

There are some very weird dialogues here and there, and things I can't imagine anyone would say... One character swaps very cringey between languages for apparently no reason, and others just have truly odd lines. I also feel there is a character who got totally forgotten about which left me wondering why we didn't get to see their happy ending... But all in all, decent christmas show and worth a watch.

It was a series that caught my attention because I love airports. Also, it was excellent to combine the unrelated topics covered. There are lessons for everyone to learn. We see the concept of human psychology and destiny filmed in a sense. The players performed well according to their positions. It was a series that could be watched as a family and made inferences. Touched by real life, it was a series that showed how negativities in the family affect children and their separation from the family. It was an indication of how people who learned from the mistakes of the past use it as their only leverage in the future and that miracles can always happen.

Of the thousands of Christmas movies I've seen since my first... Concrete-dam... I've never had this much difficulty writing a review. There are so many amazing elements. Instead of a proper critique, I'm just going to list why my parents and I absolutely LOVED it: an eclectic, hugely relatable, cast of characters, the myriad of emotions they and we expressed/felt throughout, chances are -at least- one character represents YOU, A story -and lines- written so well I'm 110% sure as least one member of the production crew has personal experience, way more true-to-life than any Hallmark movie, and to top it all off... "I CAN'T believe we MISSED that!" Want to know what "that" is? You know what to do.

I loved this series! Great script and outstanding performances by the actors. The carachters are so relateable. One message is that Christmas spirit is different for alle of us. We should stop what we're doing once in a while and acknowledge that we have no clue what other people are going through.

This series brings out every feeling you've got! Tears, laughter and manu touching moments.

There are too many series/movies about Christmas out there. Most of them are garbage compared to this one. Read the subtitles, it's not the same with dubbing. I'm Norwegian so I'm probably not objective, but I see other reviews are as positive as mine.

Exactly what you want from a Christmas show. Heartwarming, lots of life lessons and personal growth, love stories (romantic, friendship, family and even a dog) and a ton of emotions. The stories of the characters intertwine and the suspense each developing story line keeps you interested but not in a heavy way so it's easy watching. A few story lines are fairly predictable which for a generic show it might be a downside, for a Christmas show though it works perfectly. Other story lines are a little deeper and make for interesting characters. Perfect show to binge with a massive pile of snacks.

If you liked "Home for Christmas" you will also like this Series. Its a heart warming look into the life of different people all sharing the same faith, as a storm causes them to be stuck at the airport.

It is not your typical christmas movie, which for chronic christmas movie watchers is a plus in it's own right.

There is not a main big-romance kind of plot going on, but of course you'll find your fair share of it.

What makes it really shine are it's many perspectives and the nuanced view on Christmas that comes with them.

If you saw "Home for Christmas", there are many actors you will meet again which is at first a bit confusing but you eventually get used to their new characters.

Well... I have made it to episode 5 and ONLY fell asleep three times..

First off I absolutely loved the first season of Home for Christmas starring our amazing Ida Elise Broch, this girl can act but she was reduced to nothing more than a boring side character in this absolute snooze fest!

It felt extremely Cliche and looks like it was written for the American market due to its never ending soppiness and wanna be love actually kinda vibes, I was just not biting despite a cast of fairly decent actors in it.

It also looked a lot in parts that the snow effect was actually washing up bubbles, I don't get why this was needed as I thought this was ridiculously unnecessary given that this is supposed to be filmed in Oslo (at Christmas) (in a snow storm)

I think it fails to capture any sort of feeling or rapport with any of the characters as they are only transiting through an airport terminal and it doesn't have the lasting longevity or Charachter development of Home For Christmas.

This series doesn't really go anywhere and I think I could have done with as season 3 of Home for Christmas instead of this sickly sweet Americanised Garbage.

I haven't watched a single Norwegian (actually Scandinavian) movie badly played, and this is a recommendation already. The intertwined stories reminds of Love Actually, despite it's not so funny, not so dense, and touches tougher problems. I enjoyed the sincerity and the themes approached, the script, basically everything. Even if some reviewers will complain about stereotype of some stories, each and every one of them has new angles, and in general candid ones. There is nothing really ugly in any of them, and this is what makes it a good/great Christmas story (or stories). Obviously I recommend it.

I registered on IMDB just to write this review because I really loved this series and I think after Home for Christmas (both seasons) and A Storm for Christmas, I can say I admire how Norwegians can create really diverse, feel-good, not too banal kind of movies - much better than all that sweet and super predictable stuff we are ending up annually from Hallmark and American Netflix.

So, it's Christmas Eve and you get bunch of characters of different nationalities, ethncities, age, sexuality, class and health condition stuck in Oslo airport. Due to a heavy snowstorm noone is going anywhere, so many conversations will start, some serious fights will take place and some romantic stories will begin (some of them quite unexpectedly!) I liked all of the characters, even those who were first very unlikable, and I was rooting for all of them to get their happy-ending. Whether it happens to all of them or not - you have to watch till the end and prepare some napkins if you tend to get sentimental like myself. I had some tears several times through the episodes.

Wonderful series to binge watch over the weekend alone, with your significant one or with friends. Totally recommended!

A heart warming, slow burning and beautiful mini series about what is important in life. We follow quite a couple of different people and storylines throughout a 24 hour period, who is stuck in Oslo airport because of a snowstorm, the 23'th and 24'th of December. All of our characters experience some kind of heartache together with challenges, that leads to insight, growth and redemption. And the stories intertwine perfectly with one another. I love the "low key" nordic atmosphere and humor of it all. It is relatable and authentic. And also the mix of Norwegian, Swedish and Danish characters. Norway is doing so good with these Netflix shows, and I can't wait to see what will come next.

A bit confusing at the beginning, especially because so many characters are drawn. But then from episode 3 on, it gets better. The drawing of the characters is perfect. Very authentic.

You understand each character and their intentions, they are believable and natural. Not too overdrawn. Also the length is not artificially dragged out and artificially bloated with irrelevant dialogues/images.

The series, unlike all the other Christmas movies/series, has no cheap emotions or clichés at all.

A wonderful series that works beautifully without a lot of bling bling.

This series is 100% recommended.

I loved it! I rewatch Home for Christmas every year ever since it came out, and this new show was such a pleasant surprise!

I love how real and relatable Norwegian series is - not the corny BS I see from Hallmark, but an actual story, with real people. I registered mostly to say - if I see one more review about the "uncalled for" language that was used, I'm gonna scream. Stop with your pseudo righteousness! This is not your typical all white cast prince for Christmas movie.... Anyway, loved the stories, loved the acting. And absolutely loved the score and songs used. Thank you to the director and the cast. Awesome work.

This is a very rare 10/10 for me. I just loved this. I watched because at 6 half hour episodes I thought it wouldn't be too onerous- and it was just so endearing, understated and charming that it turned out to be one of the best things I've watched on Netflix this year.

This manages to strike a perfect balance across the board- characters that are memorable and likable but also relatable and realistic, stories that are intriguing but not complicated, doesn't try to be "wow" but manages it with magical humanity. I wish Netflix would make more stuff like this, simple stories done with excellence. Amazing TV without any big budget nonsense.

This is soothing movie, I only wish it had more episodes. All the characters are so real and their conversations are effortless. Airport staff are nice and friendly and stranger humans bonding could happen unexpectedly. That's why I like travel. You can talk stranger without judgement and listen to them. The kids in the movie are adorable and conversation is honest. The actors are so good at their job. It really gives good vibes for the Holiday. Now in the States thousands flights are cancelled due to upcoming storm. I wish at least at some airports people find love and joy like in the movies.

I have no words. Home For Christmas was a 10 for me, but this was like a -11?? I don't even know how that's possible. I don't even know how I made it through the whole thing. Probably because I was texting with a friend and we were experiencing the shared trauma that is watching this movie together. The only things it had in common with Home For Christmas are the words Christmas, Norway, and Ida. I'm so baffled! It's as if it's written by someone who doesn't know how real humans act out in the wild? And then the last episode, everything hits the fan but not in a fun way. All the character plotlines were either boring or chaotic and nonsensical. This whole thing felt like a fever dream.

This series shows how beautiful christmas can be if you make the best of it. The little things, such as someone to talk to can mean a lot to many people. This series shows how imortant it is to take care of each other. Many people have a hard time around Christmas, and therefore is it important to be helpful to those who may need it. I love how it shows many diffrent people with diffrent stories on the same place. People with diffrent lives, unaware of what other people face. I think that christmas is about showing gratitude to those around you. I would recommend eveyone to watch «A storm for christmas».

A Santa Claus, a priest, and a concert pianist walk into a bar... Sorry, couldn't resist. There IS a bar. And a guy working as a Santa Claus. And an actual priest. And a very indignant concert pianist, whose career is in free fall. There's also a pop star with her assistant and a body guard. A constantly fighting couple with a pre-teen daughter. A young woman meeting her lover. A very nasty female attorney. A girl sitting at the bar, working on a list of things her Dad might want for Christmas. Yeah, it's almost Christmas and all these people and many more are stuck in the Oslo airport due to bad weather.

Yes, it's a very overused setup. But we were browsing through Netflix on Christmas eve and literally all other Christmas movies looked downright ridiculous. At least being stuck at an airport because of bad weather is perfectly realistic. Airports do bring together people from all walks of life. And bad weather is a great equalizer - no amount of money will get you to your destination.

Over 6 30 minute episodes we get to know each of the many characters a bit and some of them get to know each other. Acting is excellent across the board. Everyone is a living breathing human being. This being a European series, there is a lot of sadness, but also a good amount of light. A skinny black Santa Claus manages to grant at least one child her Christmas wish, sort of. And one sugary miracle is forgiven.

This is the best Christmas show (movie or limited series) I have ever seen, really a must watch for all adults. Though the storyline is all too familiar, it is the behind each character that brings this story to life and because they are all opposite stereo-typical. Absolutely love this and can relate because I am many of the characters that are not often seen or overlooked. They are not just a-typical opposites as well like some movies / tv shows try to do; they are well researched, emotionally understood characters that are real in our societies. And the best at the pinnacle moment when everyone comes together, it's not Hollywood's "the hero" who will save the day - waiting for a storm to pass - it's the unsuspected hero, the one who is vulnerable and most likely overlooked. As a fellow filmmaker and writer, I love it and I truly believe we need films to this calibre of character development in all countries. Bravo!

I watched the first episode, and it was 40 minutes of uneventful boredom. 40 minutes ought to be more than enough to present at least a sub plot that would make someone watch episode two, but no. Nothing happened. Even the snow storm failed to pick up. Got to be one of the worst pilot episodes ever. Maybe the show makes an epic comeback later on (at least to justify the high IMDb average rating), but I really cannot be bothered. This is definitely not a new "Home for Christmas". Zero stars for story and storytelling, three stars for realistically reproducing the boredom one experiences when waiting 40 minutes for a flight out of Oslo Airport.

How do you say "extremely boring" in Norwegian?

I only tried this show because I adopted a dog named "Storm" on Christmas Eve, 2022. It seemed too coincidental that there was a series with this title.

So I set out to enjoy what some reviewers raved about. I have enjoyed many shows produced in Norway ("Occupied" among them). But right away some of the characters turned me off (the idiot explaining how to eat a hot dog to the ulidelig nun; the stuck up celebrity who demeans her assistant, for two.)

That's when I decided to bail, so I don't have anything to reinforce my low rating except these early scenes. Maybe it got better. I'll never know.

I was immediately taken in by the first few moments of the story but then comes the Santa dropping an F-bomb! I stuck with it because I could see the potential for a great story as new characters and subplots emerged. Some of the situations are endearing where you can foresee the issues and look forward to their resolution. However, some characters are quite harsh, which is okay, but the accompanying filthy language is beyond the realm of reality. The majority of the characters use all sorts of profanities which is just unreal and clearly not called for. It is especially injurious to Believers, especially at Christmas time, to have almost constant blasphemies hurled about. The destroyed what could have been a great story.
