A wonderfully weird parody of Wisconsin's most famous serial killer.

I saw this film as they were doing a local showing. This film is a funny satire spin on the famous serial killer Ed Gein. It focuses on the insane fantasies that might have led Ed to perform his heinous acts in a funny and witty fashion.

The music in this film consists of both original and parodied songs. The props and vehicles bring the feeling of the 50's back.

While this film is very clearly from a small production team. However it shows that you don't need a huge budget or amazing effects to have a good time. This film has the potential of become a local cult classic. It's niche and weird, but enjoyable.

Missed Opportunity

I went into this hoping for something along the lines of Cannibal the Musical. But from the minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone this is not.

It's funny in the sense that it's so awful. It's a sincere attempt at a film for the most part, but calling it a musical is quite the stretch.

It's worth a watch if you have an hour and a half you're willing to waste. The songs are awful parodies and are about 4 lines and it's done. There's some jazz poetry I guess that's somewhat ok, but man. So disappointed.

Some gore but nothing compares to other movies that are similar.

Overall, don't waste your time. If you want a musical, watch something else. If you want an ed gein film, watch a different one.

A wonderful romp....if you're into film theory, you'll love it!

This is a really interesting film. Dan Davies is a very special talent (writer and actor) and wrote a film where all of the musical numbers happen in Ed's head. That lessens the need to "water down" the story by making the fantasy "fit" a straight dialog film. You get the core of the story (the necessary amount of the "horror" without its being distasteful to anyone who might have had a personal connection to it!) but it isn't overdone like most exploitation films (which this definitely IS NOT); the result is a funny, poignant and well crafted film. I really liked this movie -- I went not expecting much and came away blown away with what this very creative and serious young film maker had created. I highly recommend this to anyone studying film!

Hilarious Parody

Ed Gein is a common household name in Wisconsin, as with most of the country. His story has inspired many movies and books, but none writing to the original story about the man himself. This retelling of what happened so many years ago is told with hilarious parodies of songs from classic musicals, as well as brilliantly written original songs. With multiple people describing it as "Wow", "Something different", and "Hysterically psychotic", it is a cult classic in the making. As it's fan base grows, you will have to see it for yourself to really see why so many people enjoy the production. Thank you Dan Davies for this captivating retelling!
