Unexpected
RainbowLynx3 December 2021
I really love this storyline, as Legends have no Waverider, but they still do what they do best - mess the history.

I love Gwyn and how his character opens with time, but Astra steals this episode.

Filled with social problems it also shows another side of Bishop, but not for long.

Great visual style, great history moment, still good humor, and very-very unexpected ending.

It looks like producers decided to give a good ending for this show, because this season is so damn good, compared to others.

It's all about teamwork!

Warning: Spoilers
The Legends arrive in a forest again, but there appears to be a road and trails. Bishop gets up, encountering the Legends again. They hear multiple men coming to possibly attack them, so they run to their mansion along with Bishop who explains all of the confusion. "This is all very underwhelming, my boy." Agreed. Sara and Ava walk out of there, arriving in an Airport Manufacturer. Maybe the 60s? The two watch footage about the war effort, so this must take place during WWII. Sara and Ava walk back in and the Mansion only to hear that Nate and Zari are finally living together which grabs the Legends' attention. So, yes. This is 1943. Poor Davies only learned that the "War to End All Wars" failed, yikes.

Sara, Ava, Gideon, Astra, and Spooner are now working for the war effort. Sara and Ava are war workers, Gideon being a guy's secretary, and sadly... Astra and Spooner are janitors. During the work process, Sara and Ava steal some of the parts for Davies' time machine. Sara meets up with Astra and Spooner giving them the parts they need. Astra has an idea to stamp the patent of Davies' time machine but gets caught by the guy. Outraged by all of the racism and sexism, she uses her magic to freeze the fellow. I wouldn't blame her, to be honest.

Sara realizes that they have the whole place to themselves meaning that they have no problem. Sara, Ava, Gideon, and Spooner return to the mansion giving a part to Davies and eating dinner. Gideon gives out a complaint box to Astra stamp approving them all. With the amount of help, Davies is back to constructing his time machine. Astra is caught by the woman, but pretends to not know what happen to Mr. Staples, and wanted a better workplace for the women. The woman is fine with this as she and Astra make some arrangements. After many hours, the plane is finally completed.

Mr. Staples is big mad questioning everything, shouting hateful stuff until a Colonel and First Lady come to inspect the place. Everybody at the workplace stands for a photoshoot for all of their work. Bishop presents his navigational machine that works throughout reading Gideon's thoughts. Suddenly, many black-armored soldiers attack the place. The Legends make a run for it to the Time Machine as they're getting fired out. Bishop uses the machine gun in the plane against the soldiers making time for the Legends to get in the Time Machine. Sadly, Bishop is shot at gunpoint. Wait a minu- they were the Legends...?

Thoughts?

Wow, what to say on this? I did like how they did the historical setting perfectly well. The engaging team dynamic, the tensions, the storyline are very great, have fun humor and address social problems during the time. I have to say. This is definitely Astra's strongest episode with having more screentime of her. It amazes me how much her character has developed throughout the years. Like, I used to majorly dislike her when we first saw her. Her interactions with Gladys had me invested throughout the episode.

I will miss Good Bishop. He's such a brilliant and fun character. What a good way to make a sacrifice. BUT, as the CW loves playing tricks on us. I will be keeping an eye. As I haven't been taught about WWII, yet. I have learned more about it, and glad to have more acknowledge of history as it is important. And finally. I have finally been caught up to date with Legends of Tomorrow! Side note. After reading some detailed information on the episode. The other Legends were created by Evil Gideon, which was a creative twist.

"That seems a bit harsh. How about misunderstood Gideon who's just trying to keep the timeline intact?"

10/10.

A bit woke but I'll allow it.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a bit more woke than usual, but it doesn't happen as often on legends. Plus because it's a period show where racism was very overt, it makes sense that a modern person would try to fix things for the better. Some of the aspects of the show were a little contrived but it fits the theme of the show.

Just Wow!!

Warning: Spoilers
Loving Davis character. Amazing actor, shame it's not John. Loving Gideon. Even Gary is making me warm to him a little. Spooner....ok. Nate still Nate.

None of the others are actually Legends any more. Ava tries (pathetically to respond to "don't leave footprints in the time line"), but seriously! Since season 6 it's more about relationships and everyone pairing off with each other. And, hey babe, you know, it's just like all about how great women are babe, and this episode is another one babe, that just shows how much superior women are to pathetic, stupid, controlling men, babe!

I was liking the episode, but of course, we have to have evil bad white straight man. The "social Justice Women in Time" (as the show should have changed it's name to in season 6) come in and change things again, but it ok to change timelines as long as it's to help women, and now women of minorities. No wonder the "evil" Gideon (or Gideon that actually does the job of "Legends of Tomorrow" originals.....wait is that what we have been building up to over the last two seasons?!? Seriously, just change the name of the show, and maybe it wouldn't grate and frustrate so bloody much!)

Also, to take untrained staff and to believe that they could build a plane in the same time as those that had been trained is belittling the effort and skills of those women that built machinery during WWII!!

These last two seasons babe (oh my god!!! How annoying is that!!! Why?! "Hey babe" "Yeah babe" But you know, it's ok, as they are lesbians so it's all good) have been so.......aaarrghhh!!!! Did they choose to just take two seasons of tongue in cheek taking the piss out of itself, with cartoony dialogue, and cartoony modern stereotypes?! Again, just change the name of the show "Social Justice Women in Time (and Space)" for example.

I miss the original Legends that actually tried not to disrupt the timeline just because they were caught up in their own dramas.
