The latest feature from David Fincher, a big-budget drama series from Steven Knight and Shawn Levy, and an Oscar hopeful starring Annette Bening and Jodie Foster are among the standout new additions hitting Netflix in November.
With The Killer, Fincher reteams with Seven writer Andrew Kevin Walker to adapt the graphic novel written by Alexis Nolent. The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival this year and debuts on Netflix on Nov. 10, stars Michael Fassbender as a shadowy unnamed assassin and features a cast that includes Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Gabriel Polanco, Kerry O’Malley, Emiliano Pernía, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte and Tilda Swinton.
The Hollywood Reporter‘s review of The Killer described the film as “a satisfyingly retro, location-hopping genre exercise with fisticuffs, gadgets (albeit ones bought from Amazon) and smooth-talking antagonists that all plays like a tongue-in-cheek spoof of James Bond movies.”

The first season of The Tailor, a Turkish Netflix Original that was released earlier this year, was one of the most over-the-top stories that many may have come across. Turkish shows are slowly going the Latin American way of storytelling and are getting good traction in the Netflix space. There are plenty of family-based, over-the-top dramas being made just to catch the eyeballs of the audience, which loves to indulge in the telenovela style of narrative. The Tailor created by Onur Güvenatam, is about a young woman who runs away from her fiancé and finds solace in the most unexpected of places.
The Tailor begins with the audience being introduced to Peyami Doku Maci, the protagonist, who is the most sought-after fashion designer in Turkey. The opening montage has a good time describing the high-voltage drama that goes on behind the stage just seconds before the model walks onto the ramp wearing Peyami’s prestigious collections. This was the extent of the high-flying artistic side of Peyami shown in this series. His profession makes him a tailor, hence the title of the show.

From the few flashbacks we get to see, we know that Peyami was close to his grandfather, who also accepted his father, Mustafa, for who he was. We never see Mustafa call for his mother but only “papa” in reference to both his own father and also Peyami, who may resemble his grandfather. Peyami was left under his grandfather’s care by his mother, who walked...

Although Netflix is now in the midst of a writers’ strike by the WGA East and WGA West, it still has plenty of content on the streamer, and Kerri Russell‘s “The Diplomat” had little problem topping the English-language TV chart for a second week in a row. Read on for the Netflix Top 10 (Week of April 24) viewing chart analysis.
Season 1 of “The Diplomat” remained the chart-topper with 66.5 million global hours viewed, as Netflix’s hit spy thriller series, “The Night Agent,” dropped to fourth place with 37.7 million hours viewed. “The Diplomat” also bumped up to the #1 slot in the United States and Canada, while remaining in the Top 10 in 84 countries total. “The Night Agent” was the #1 series in Egypt, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

I’d never seen a Turkish drama, so I was curious to find out what all the fuss was about. And when The Tailor showed up on Netflix, I got the perfect opportunity to test the waters. Although the over-the-top dramatics and the long slow-motion shots were a bit too much for me personally, I can understand why it could be an easy and quick watch with a new twist every episode. With every episode ending on a cliffhanger, it is sure to hook you in and make you wonder what the secrets are. It is easy to predict what is going to happen somewhere around the midpoint of the series, so it brings down the excitement for the show a little bit. Nevertheless, the last episode is sort of rewarding in the sense that it leaves you wanting more (because we already have a trailer for Season 2).

The Tailor is a series created by Cem Karci starring Çagatay Ulusoy. With Sifanur Gül and Olgun Simsek.
The Tailor is a Turkish series loaded with a plethora of varied feelings.
Don’t be fooled by its luxurious beginning, after only ten minutes the series turns to Turkish traditionalism and rural atmosphere.
The Tailor (2023) About the series
What can we say about Turkish soap operas? The first, and almost the only remarkable thing, is that they have become a surprising success thanks to a combination that, although not unique, is the closest to the concept of Holy Grail in the milieu of film industry: a huge audience cliff-hanged to a low-cost production.
Without rocking the boat, full of handsome actors and applying economic criteria to both the narrative and the profiles of the characters, this industry grows day by day… to the absolute astonishment of specialized critics.

Must-watch comedy series, eye-opening documentaries and an expansion of the “Bridgerton” universe are among the noteworthy additions to Netflix this month. May 12 sees the premiere of Jennifer Lopez’s new Netflix original film “The Mother,” in which she plays an assassin lured back in for one last job. And on May 23, the documentary “Victim/Suspect” examines how sexual assault victims too often get turned into suspects when they report their assaults.
“Queen Charlotte,” the “Bridgerton” prequel series, arrives on May 4 while a new season of Tim Robinson’s sketch series “I Think You Should Leave” drops on May 30. And if you missed the most recent season of the niche (but delightful) comedy series “Documentary Now!,” you can stream that on Netflix starting May 9.

Netflix recently announced it would be investing $2.5 billion into South Korean programming. Before Squid Game season 2 comes down the pike, however, the first seeds of that investment will bear fruit for Netflix in May 2023.
Netflix’s list of new releases for May 2023 is highlighted by the May 12 release of Korean series Black Knight. Set “in a dystopian 2071 devastated by air pollution,” this show will follow world-saving deliverymen known as “Black Knights.” Other international offerings this month include Japanese sumo drama Sanctuary on May 4 and Spanish crime thriller Muted on May 19.
Netflix’s domestic TV options this month include Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story on May 4. That will be followed by post-apocalyptic animated comedy Mulligan on May 12 and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s TV debut Fubar on May 25. And for those hoping for “triples,” I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson premieres on May 30.
On the movie side of things, Netflix has an unusually busy month.

As the calendar turns to May, the world’s largest streaming service is set to introduce a slew of new titles to the service. Perhaps most anticipated will be “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” when it debuts on May 4. Young Queen Charlotte’s marriage to King George of England sparks an epic love story and transforms high society in Netflix’s “Bridgerton” universe prequel. India Amarteifio plays Young Queen Charlotte.
Check out the trailer for “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”:
In the first series role of his career, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays an undercover CIA operative ready to enjoy retirement. However, when he discovers a family secret, he is forced to go back into the field for one last job. What he doesn’t know is that his daughter — also a CIA operative — is on the case. "Help me find her, Peyami." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a Turkish series titled The Tailor, or just Terzi in Turkish, streaming on Netflix this May. Another localized offering from Netflix as part of their deal within many different countries right now. Terzi tells the story of Peyami, a young and famous tailor who inherited talent and a business from his grandfather. Peyami begins to sew a wedding dress for his best friend's fiance – but all three have dark secrets that will soon upend their lives. Of course, as usual. Starring Çağatay Ulusoy, Salih Bademci, Şifanur Gül, Olgun Şimşek, Ece Sükan, Zeynep Özyurt Tarhan, Murat Kilic, Celile Toyon, Vedat Erincin, and Lila Gürmen. Looks like an intensely melodramatic series, with perilous secrets sewn right into the tapestry of the story involving multiple generations, lovers, affairs, and more. Instead of watching this, I'd recommend watching Mark Rylance in The Outfit as a tailor.
