Warning: Spoilers
Live from Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Jerry Lawler

Kevin Kelly is shown outside Brian Pillman's home in Walton, KY. He's gonna interview Brian Pillman later tonight. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin is scheduled to show up at Pillman's home.

Goldust (W/Marlena, Triple H, Mr. Perfect & Crush) Vs "The Stalker" Barry Windham (W/Rocky Maivia, Mark Henry & Marc Mero)

The match ends in a double disqualification after both teams get involved. This match was just here to promote Survivor Series, nothing more. Steve Austin phoned in during the match.

*

Kevin Kelly is inside Brian Pillman's home. Pillman says he's been in bitter feuds before, but Austin has made this personal. Pillman says he knows Austin better than anybody. He knows his strengths, weaknesses, and fears. Pillman pulls out a gun and says if Austin shows up, he's gonna blow Austin to hell.

We return from commercial with Austin viciously beating Pillman's friends. What's even more impressive is that the friends outweighs Austin. It looked stiff and brutal. Austin tried to get into Pillman's house. Vince is calling it a "publicity stunt"

The Sultan (W/Bob Backlund & The Iron Sheik) Vs Alex Porteau

The Sultan wins with the Camel Clutch. This was a basic squash match.

½*

Stone Cold breaks into the house, and Pillman pulls a gun on him. The satellite feed goes out and we are left with nothing but static.

The podiums are set up in the ring. Jim Ross is set to host a face to face interview with Sycho Sid & Shawn Michaels. Ross asks if Michaels has forgiven Sid for all the powerbombs that put Shawn out of action on Raw over a year ago. Shawn says he's forgiven him. He got him out of the loony bin and their buddies. Sid says that's bullshi****** . Shawn says Sid may not like it, but Sid has to thank him for being back in the WWF. Ross asks why Sid hit Shawn from behind last week. Sid calls JR a fatso, and that it was a mistake. Shawn can take that any way he wants it. Shawn says Sid apologized, Shawn accepted. Shawn says he's beaten Sid once, and he's gonna do it again. Sid says he has the advantage over Shawn with ability. Shawn says the ability is gonna be his downfall. He says Sid isn't in his league. Shawn says the belt is staying with him. Sid disagrees, obviously. Both get out of the podium and stare each other down. Sid threatens Jose Lothario. Shawn and Sid get into a shoving match until Vader, Owen Hart, and The British Bulldog come down the ring. Shawn and Sid manage to clear them from the ring. Owen Hart nails Sid with a chair, but Shawn grabs it and chases him off with it. Sid thinks it's Shawn that hit him with the chair. A mini-scuffle ensues before WWE officials come out and break it up.

Thoughts: This was a good segment between the two babyfaces. Shawn showed the proper confidence of a top babyface. Sid was very intense and unpredictable. Sid was slowly turning back into a heel at this juncture. It wasn't the wisest move because the crowd still loved him.

Marc Mero (W/Sable) Vs "The Fake" Razor Ramon (W/Fake Diesel)

Razor wins with the Razor's Edge after Hunter Hearst Helmsley appears. This was an average match. Razor Ramon II was nowhere near the caliber of Scott Hall.

** Steve Austin reappears in Brian Pillman's house and yells "shoot me! shoot me!" Pillman yells "I'm gonna kill that son of a bit*****" Brian Pillman's wife breaks down in tears as raw goes off the air.

This episode is the best episode of 1996. The Austin and Pillman stuff is absolutely riveting. Not only was it controversial, but downright harrowing. Austin and Pillman get all the credit in the world for their performances here. The intensity is off the charts. Pulling a gun on live television got Vince in major trouble.

7.5/10 overall.

Never forget
clayface93 September 2020
Throughout this episode there is a running angle where Brian Pillman is being interviewed in his home, but Steve Austin is trying to break into the house. The first match is Goldust versus the Stalker, Barry Windham. Dok Hendrix gives the Survivor Series Report. The Sultan makes short work of Alex Porteau. Jim Ross interviews Shawn Michaels and Sid about their Survivor Series match against each other. The main event is Marc Mero versus Razor Ramon. The Pillman/Austin angle is interesting and edgy, but arguably it goes too far. It also distracts from all the matches, not that any of them are great anyway.
