It's been nearly a year since we last saw the Man of Steel on our screens, but The CW has confirmed today that Superman & Lois returns for its fourth and final season this fall.
The show will be part of the network's 2024 - 2025 schedule and is one of only a handful of scripted series set to air over that period (a result of Nexstar acquiring The CW and moving away from pricey dramas).
While we don't have a specific premiere date, we can confirm Superman & Lois is moving from Tuesday nights to Thursday nights. That's quite a departure seeing as its first three seasons aired on a Tuesday, but the reason for the change is The CW's acquisition of WWE Nxt.
That takes a two-hour timeslot on Tuesdays, leaving no room for the iconic DC Comics character.
Brad Schwartz, President of entertainment for The CW, recently promised that...

When Colin Farrell was cast as Oswald Cobblepot, The Penguin, in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, many fans were skeptical as they did not know what to expect from the interpretation. Farrell definitely did not look the part, but the costume design crew did an amazing job and Farrell delivered a brilliant villain who was so good that HBO ordered a standalone spin-off series focusing on The Penguin. The series, which will be titled The Penguin, is set to be released later this year and we have just today received some interesting casting rumors!
Namely, we know that Farrell is reprising his role and that the series will focus on Penguin taking over Gotham’s criminal underworld after the death of Carmine Falcone (played by John Turturro in the film) at the hands of the Riddler.

We didn't initially pay a huge amount of attention to rumours that Mark Strong had been cast in The Penguin in a mystery role, but his trainer has now let the cat bat out of the bag in a series of Instagram posts.
Giacomo Farci was asked if it's true he worked on The Batman follow-up, promoting him to reply, "Yes, I've trained Mark for it." Asked if he could reveal who the Shazam! star is playing, Farci said, "I cannot answer to this question but I'm sure you will figure it out."
Needless to say, we're guessing he won't be reprising his role as the villainous Doctor Sivana, a villain whose story ended on a largely unsatisfying note thanks to an unresolved cliffhanger in both the first movie and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
So, who has Strong been cast as in The Penguin?

Customers will reportedly be able to pay to add a non-household member to their Max account, similar to Netflix.
It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Max would roll out restrictions against sharing passwords at some point. After all, the streamer is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, whose CEO David Zaslav has made it abundantly clear throughout his tenure that no opportunity to cut costs or boost revenues will be ignored. A new report from Lucas Shaw and Robert Golum of Bloomberg indicates that the company’s lack of action on password-sharing rules to this point is likely to change in 2024 and that a crackdown on such viewing habits is likely to come before the end of the year.
Key Details: Max’s password-sharing crackdown could begin as early as this fall. Viewers will be able to pay less than the cost of an ad-supported Max subscription to add a sharer to their account.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe is expanding, with a sequel to the 2022 movie in the works and a spin-off series, The Penguin slated to release later this year. Sebastian Stan felt differently while walking the streets of New York City during the “A Different Man” production.
Stan, who spends less than half of the film under prosthetics to play a man suffering from a facial disfigurement, explained at the New York City premiere of the feature that he felt as though he was treated differently by people when donning the makeup.
As prosthetic artist Mike Marino, who was behind “The Penguin” and “The Batman” looks, was working on a series of other projects at the time of indie film “A Different Man,” Stan explained that sometimes he would be wearing his prosthetics for up to three hours before shoot time.
“And then I had this time, so I would walk down the street, get a coffee. I was too scared to do it alone, like I had to have my friend with me,” Stan said during the New...

Many DC-based projects are currently in development. While attention is often on James Gunn’s Dcu and his upcoming ‘Creature Commandos’ and ‘Superman,’ we shouldn’t overlook the Elseworlds series, which includes ‘The Batman’ film series and other upcoming projects.
Before the Dceu officially became the Dcu, J.J. Abrams was collaborating with Ta-Nehisi Coates on a black-led Superman movie. Despite not hearing much about the movie for a while, a fan asked Gunn on Threads if it was still in active development, and Gunn confirmed that it was.
Of course, this movie is expected to be released as part of the Elseworlds label, which includes DC-based “alternative universe” projects like Mat Reeves’ ‘The Batman,’ the upcoming ‘The Penguin’ show, and ‘The Joker,’ among others.
When James Gunn assumed control of the Dcu, he opted to cancel ‘Man of Steel 2’ and reboot the ‘Superman’ franchise with a younger actor in ‘Superman: Legacy’ (now titled ‘Superman’). However,...

There are plenty of DC-based projects currently in development, and while all eyes are on Gunn’s Dcu and his upcoming ‘Creature Commandos’ & ‘Superman’ we occasionally forget that Elseworlds, which ‘The Batman’ film series and several other upcoming projects are a part of, are doing their own thing.

Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the most anticipated movies, if not the most, of 2024. The reason is fairly simple, the previous installments of the franchise created a huge fanbase, and this time, they brought back Wolverine alongside several other characters.

Also, the appearance of several characters is under wraps but it hasn’t stopped fans from speculating the returns and debut of several Marvel characters in relation to one another. Last week, Max finally released the trailer for their much-anticipated The Batman spin-off series, The Penguin, teeing up its fall release date. Overall, it looks highly reminiscent of Matt Reeves’ film, with the cinematography very much in the Grieg Fraser mode. But what else do we know about The Penguin? More than you may think.
The Penguin is set after The Batman.
The plot of The Penguin is set to follow the title character, once again portrayed by Colin Farrell, as he rises through the ranks of the Gotham City criminal underworld. After the events of The Batman and the flooding of Gotham, including the death of Carmine Falcone, Cobblepot desperately wants to fill the power vacuum. Colin Farrell has also indicated that the film will serve as an origin story for the Penguin, something we have seen twice on screen before in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, played by Danny DeVito.

Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel to “The Batman” may have been delayed to 2026, but fans will still have a chance to revisit his dark version of Gotham City later this year. Reeves is producing “The Penguin,” an upcoming Max spinoff series that sees Colin Farrell reprising his role as the villainous mob boss Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot as he rebuilds his crime operation after the events of “The Batman.”

We wrapped it, man. We did it. Stuck a fork in it about two weeks ago. It was a long and really wonderful experience. And it’s dark, that’s what I can tell you about it.

The whispers last year about a potential ER revival weren’t true, but this could be the next best thing.
Max has handed out a 15-episode, straight-to-series order for The Pitt, a look at front-line medical workers in Pittsburgh starring Noah Wyle and from ER duo John Wells and R. Scott Gemmill.
Max describes The Pitt as a “a realistic examination of the challenges facing health care workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the front-line heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”
Gemmill, who executive produced more than half of ER’s 330 episodes across its 15 seasons, will serve as showrunner on the series, which hails from John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. TV. Wells and Wyle will also be credited as exec producers.
