Those of you who like the walking dead (in general, not just the comic) and simply cannot have too much of a good thing might want to check out Ultimate Zombie Feast, a forthcoming compilation from the good people at Monster Pictures, out in the UK on October 8th. Day four of Frightfest began with the very disappointing French horror The Pack. You can find my review of the film here.
Following The Pack and the ‘Quiz from Hell’ by Andy Nyman, Frightfest audiences were treated to a selection of Short Films from around the world. You can see the full list of shorts over at the Frightfest website. My favourites were:
The Rise of the Appliances (Rob Sprackling) - A comedy horror in which household appliances rise up and take over the world. The short was really funny in places. Not all the jokes landed successfully but when they did they were great.
Dead Hungry (William Bridges) – Why doesn’t anyone care about how hard it must be living as a zombie and trying to find food. Dead Hungry cares. Focusing on just one of the zombies in the middle of a generic zombie film Bridges takes a...

The 7th annual Atlanta Underground Film Festival is like having four different fests crammed into an exhaustive three days on Aug. 27-29. It’s an outrageous underground fest, an animation festival, a documentary fest and a horror movie festival: The culmination of a month of fests run by Atlanta’s Festival League. There’s tons of short films, documentaries, features and more.
There’s lots of great stuff to recommend, too. On the last night of the fest, there will be a screening of Chris Hansen‘s second feature film, Endings, which tells the touching story of three people spending their last day on Earth together. The film was reviewed on Bad Lit a few months ago. On the short film front, there’s Loretta Hintz‘s wild lesbian bestiality (sort of) tale, The Sheep and the Ranch Hand and two films by the perpetually awesome Neil Ira Needleman, Meeskit...

FrightFest’s International Short Film Showcase returns to the festival with a bang. Featuring zombies, vampires, monsters and madness… Oh, and wrestlers… and killer household appliances! Also screening in this years showcase is The End – a new short from Marc Price, the director of the £45 zombie flick Colin.
If any of these short films is half as good as Deadspeil, the zombie-curling short shown at FrightFest Glasgow earlier this year, then the London audience is in for a treat. The full list:

Dir. Steven Shea
A night out with the girls. A hot new club and a hot new guy. For Vickie Palmer, yesterday would be her last day.

Dir. Can Evrenol
When Jimmy is left alone in his house he discovers an old mask and decides to scare his parents upon their arrival home.
Bon Appetit (UK, 3.49 mins)
