A decent episode here, but not crazy about the idea of this becoming the Darlene Show, which the past couple of episodes across Season 3 and 4 appear to be.

Why are they turning this show into an ad for religion. Last week had the psychic who is so good she has never won the lottery and this week we have hipster pastor Phil and Darlene suddenly needing the crutch that is religion and finding out there was a Bible in the kitchen drawer that no one ever knew about in over 40 years, nor that their mother was religious? Oh come on! Why can't they deal with Darlene's issues in a real world scenario and not by having her turn from Atheist to believer in a drop of a hat. This show has decided to make atheism look bad because it's hinting that Darlene's issues are because she's an atheist. Pathetic.

I will admit you had some filler storylines in there so that's why I want to focus on Darlene's storyline.

I'm not really sure where the writers are going to take Darlene's storyline because it could truly go anywhere. I just want to give credit where it's due and praise Sara's performance when she leaves the church and her breakdown when she's explaining why she had to get out of there.

I'm also an atheist. And a tie in for Becky's funny joke at the beginning when she was shocked about Darlene praying and asking if she was praying to satan, no, I'm not over here praying to that either. I can understand Darlene's feeling of being lost because I've felt the same way for a lot of my life. But I never felt anything even when I did believe in 'god'. I hope this storyline ends with Darlene seeing that she's gotten through a lot of stuff in her life and she's done that through her own inner strength. As for finding peace...I truly hope everybody that's in need of peace can find it somewhere. We live in such a crazy world and life never stops throwing stuff at you even when you're down for the count. It'd be nice if some of that inner strength divided into inner peace. Find it inside of yourself versus having to look outside of yourself.
